First Experience with Deals Direct- Unsatisfactory

Hi All,

This is my first post so please bear with me….

Deals Direct have posted me the wrong pair of boots. Upon contacting them, I was asked to either post them back, or keep them for a partial compensation. I'm in the greatest dilemma because, firstly, I know I'll never be able to wear them or gift them, secondly if I post them back, I'd end up paying more in postage than their cost.

What should I do?

    Ask them to refund you the cost of posting them back given they sent the wrong ones in the first place.

    If it was their fault they should pay.

    Did you use PayPal?

    Raise a dispute, and get free return shipping.

    I did complain, but these were the only two options given to me.

  • Thanks Forfiet! I will surely have a look at that. In the meantime, I have queried whether they will be willing to bear the postage cost as suggested by Ikp.

  • Update - I had asked if Deals Direct would not mind paying for the return postage but I have not heard back from them as yet. I had sent them photos of my ordered item as compared to what I received and it was totally different.

    So I'm guessing I'll have to bear 50% of the cost of an item that I did order but it was never delivered to me. They have obviously swapped my order with someone else's, as they do not have my boots in stock anymore. I wonder if the other person would have complained for receiving something they did not order?

    I am quite disappointed by the way this has been handled. However, I'm not willing to fill out more paperwork for the PayPal refund.

  • Update - Now Deals Direct have agreed to refund the cost of my boots that I did not receive.

    Apparently they had not even seen the pictures I had sent to them before. After seeing the pics and assessing, they offered to refund the full cost of my ordered item.
