Hi all. Looks like all the buses run Fri, sun. Unfortunately we booked Saturday! Any other good options? Got a hire car, but apparently can't "go over snow". So looking for an option near Bright / myrtleford.
Going up Mt Hotham on Saturday.. Options?

Can't go over snow?
You only need chains when requested but it is compulsory to have them in the car (no one checks unless you need to have them on).
You can hire any car to get you up and down the mountain, simply because the road is mostly wet, not covered in snow.You would think that, but the only rental car company that I found that lets you drive up to the snow is Apex car rentals. Well your insurance is null and void if you go past the snowline with others. We booked though Avis (which says "you can now take your Avis car to the Snow". Put in our dates etc. Given a final price and booked. Arrive at the airport and SUPRISE…that will be an extra $150 ($200 rental). No indication of this on the mobile site. They agreed but still insisted on $150 more..Went and booked with Apex, chains only $25 to hire for the duration.
That's such a shame, I wouldn't have guessed all that small print. At least take solice that you're covered!

Omeobus is a PTV service so its the cheapest but no service on Saturday

I am going out so I cant check for you now. Try looking for buses going up to Hotham/dinner plains leaving from Bright or Harriettville.
I heard of it but I have not looked into it. Ill look into it further tonight.
