Hi all. Today I flew on a direct domestic flight (3 hours) Cairns to Sydney with Jetstar and unfortunately my 1 piece of checked baggage did not arrive on the carousel and is now lost. I did not take out travel insurance for this trip (not ideal I know). I immediately contacted Jetstar and they have started the procedures to locate the bag - although 3 hours later they still cant say even whether the bag left its origin point.
- I was wondering whether anyone knew A) what I can claim in the meantime while I wait for them to attempt to locate it - e.g toiletries vs business attire as obviously I have nothing on me at this point and B) what these claims would typically be capped at. I couldn't find any clear directions online but on the phone the customer service representative vaguely said I could make a claim after 8 hours?
