What Is Your Favourite Meal?

For me, it has to be Roast Beef with roast potatoes, veg and yorkshire puddings.
This just about clinches the number 1 spot from a decent Lamb Korma with Garlic Naan.

Had to google that, so its basically the contents of a Kebab without the bread.. looks nice though!

Consists of hot chips at the bottom, a layer of cheese, then the meat (chicken, lamb or mixed) and whatever sauces you like on top. Not quite the contents of a normal kebab :)

        • Sorry, just got a little bit of sick in my mouth.

      Omg I had that yesterday

  • Pad See Ewe

  • Domino's…

In particular, Vege Pizza with the lot - olives, mushrooms, pineapple, tomatoes, onion, capsicum, spinach on a thick bready, deep pan base.
    (Yes I'm a Vegetarian).

It's just something about it, being just $6 or $7 (Depending on coupon), that makes it taste so much better…and satisfying.

    EDIT: I go through about 5 a week…

Hard to beat Nan's roast, with Yorkshire puds, but we also have a thing for Pea and Ham soup, especially in the Winter. Even though I soak the peas overnight it still takes some time to prepare and cook the following day, with all that constant stirring lest a crust appears on the bottom of the pot.*

500 gr bag split yellow peas
    1 large onion
    1 large potato
    4 carrots
    3-4 celery sticks
And I now cheat and buy …
Tibaldi 500g "slow roasted ham hock meat" from Coles

Season to taste. Very economical meal for a family, although it doesnt seem to last very long. You do require a very large pot too. I like to use a blender on the peas (not ham or veggies) to quicken the cooking process at the beginning phase … not necessary if course. Serve with some crusty buttered rolls, but bread and butter does a treat too.

    • ps. If someone has a cure for that skin forming on bottom of the pot (which could burn and be a shame) please let me know. We currently take it in shifts to do the stirring … not that anyone complains!

Bacon and egg sarnies on the weekends are a firm favourite too.

    Sukiyaki is my favourite dish.
We actually just got back from my favourite restaurant that sells really good Sukiyaki. Unfortunately it was sold out when we got there tonight. It looked like 2 out of 3 tables ordered at least 1 sukiyaki (saw a table with 3).
I wasn't too upset though as it actually is simple to make the sauce.
Now is actually the right season to have steaming hot pot of sukiyaki.

Another dish I like is anything with croissant.
    Croissant with bacon and cheese.
    Croissant with Nutella.
    Croissant with sausage.
Croissant with hot dog + relish + cheese + diced onion
