I would like to watch Olympics via internet and heard that BBC on demand is a good site.
Is BBC available only for U.K. residents ?
If yes, I do not know how to set up access via VPN. Can anyone explain in layman terms or direct me to a site ? Also what is a cheap VPN to choose ?

Yeah, you get to choose between freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, relays, medley, breaststroke and more!
And replays of this ad nauseam if a medal event an aussie wins.
Heaven forbid there's some country pride.
Yes those pommy git (BBC) got no pride in their homeland. What were they thinking broadcasting and covering all events of the olympics?
Not saying we shouldn't cover australian athletes but theres so many events in the olympics. Have a channel for gloating and repeating whatever they want. And others for live events. This should satisfy almost everybody.
@xoom:
Couldn't agree more.
AUstralian coverage of the Olympics was best when SBS was allowed to show stuff 12 years ago now? (feeling old!) Channel 7 showed repeat after repeat of the Swimming and SBS showed all the excellent international stuff..
My TV didn't move from SBS the entire fortnight.@scubacoles: I also hate it how Channel 7 uses it as an opportunity to flog the upcoming season of its cooking or singing shows and Manu's head takes over the screen every couple of minutes.
Yeah that does get annoying :/ I've noticed them starting those ads now! Advertising for like 6 weeks away!
I wish they'd bring back Roy & HG though, they were a bit of fun to watch at night :)
@Spackbace:
I thought I read/heard they were back?EDIT: they are, but on Triple M
http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/roy-slaven-…With any luck they'll be simulcasting with 7's Coverage so we can turn down the telly and turn up the radio.
Use a DNS redirector like Getflix.
easier and less intrusive than a VPN.
BBC restricts their iPlayer app to people in the UK, so you will need a VPN to source the app if you're planning to watch from an Android (and presumably iOS) device.
But once you have the app, it's smooth sailing with just the DNS Redirection service.If I am using Windows 7, do you mean I still need to get VPN to download the BBC iplayer ? Then download Getflix ?
Sorry I am a newbie with VPN and these things. Appreciate any help.If you're watching through a PC, you don't have/need an app for BBC or Getflix.
Getflix isn't really an app at all. You just need to sign up and then change the DNS settings to Getflix DNS in your modem/router.
Why not see how good or bad the telstra app is? 36 channels is definitely a lot of choice!
