Overwatch for $40USD= $53.46AUD for PC

170

So,
I tried buying overwatch with my original account which was set here is Oz but when i tried the trick where you buy overwatch from the Taiwan region for 1300NT it didn't work.
So i contacted support ans they told me that because my account was set in Australia i couldn't buy it from Taiwan.Furthermore i made a new account and made sure it was set in somewhere in the asian region (i set it to India). Finally i logged into the battle.net app on PC (i recommend installing this first and then making an account on this app) on my new account and read that Overwatch was 40USD so i jumped straight at the chance and bought it for $53.46AUD using American Express via PayPal.

Hope you enjoy playing overwatch :)
P.S: You can play overwatch in any region eventhough you have bought it from a different region.

  • Alot of the time you wont notice, but it might put you on American servers, it shouldn't but its a possibility, as your account is requested to be a different country.

Matchmaking doesn't take into account your region, it checks your ping and places you on servers based on that. Sometimes when low ping (Australian servers) are full, matchmaking will place you on another region. It's not the best, but Blizzard have acknowledged it and are looking into the solution

      • So your basing that on if there net is pinging at 200+ its going to put them on a US server?

If i was to run peerblock it will put me on a US server.

        • It depends, if your ping from Peerblock to an AU server is 200, but your ping from Peerblock to a US server is 400, it would still attempt to place you on an AU server.

If you are connected to a US based Peerblock location, you may be directed to a US server

If I buy this will I regret not getting the Origins edition?

Was about to buy an Origin Editions key from a reseller for ~$69AU

    • Do you want the skins and other stuff for an extra $25?
It's up to you i guess.

Buy the normal one, you get heaps of skins in game.

    • If you play other blizzard games and don't mind paying a bit extra for cosmetic stuff then go for it.

Thanks guys, I am going to grab this one,
I just want milk that tastes like real milk, and it sounds like I wont get any different of an experience from the standard version. Cheers.

  • Great game.

  • Thanks OP worked perfectly

  • comes up as $69 for me?

    • Make sure when you're making your battle.net account that you click on India instead of Australia. If you have already made an account you will have to make a new one thus meaning you will need a new email address.

  • Hmm. I made a new Indian account and it comes up as $59.99USD. Maybe they fixed it?
