I can confirm that they are doing this. 5% isn't much but hey better in my pocket than theirs!

They were doing this at the Top Ryde store recently as well. Discount automatically came off each item as they were scanned.

Seem to have some random 5% off around Syndey, 2 weeks before there are 5% off applied to check out at Lidcombe center Woolworths too. Just I did not realise until today when i check my receipts.
Both lidcombe and mascot are relatively new stores, maybe they're doing it to bring in more business
But they never advertise? it will be shame to randomly give out discount without advertisement.
