Wotif... Wot Hotel Secret Deal

Hi, wasn't sure where to post this i hope it's in the right section :-)

I was looking at this secret deal on Wotif and was wondering if anyone has used this similar deal that i'm looking at.

They don't give much away as to which hotel it is and i'm worried we might get stuck with a dodgy hotel.

This is the secret deal we're looking at

Any advice would be great

Cheers

  • Used it a few times and was pleasantly surprised on every occasion. Saved up to $50/night when comparing with the publicly displayed price of the same hotel on wotif. Just look out for catches eg. no carpark facilities.

EDIT: Last time I used the "Wot Hotel" offer in Sydney, I got the Citigate.

  • Have used the secret deal couple of times as well and been quite satisfied. If you'll do some research on the hotels you should be actually able to figure out what the secret deal is from the availability and the general description of the secret deal.

  • Thanks for the replies, greatly appreciated :-)

I reckon i have narrowed it down to the The Sebel Surry Hills Sydney, which funnily enough is rebranded from Citigate Sebel, which is probably the hotel where Livert stayed.

I could be wrong but if this secret deal is The Sebel i'll be happy with that.

    Cheers

    • It was actually the Citigate Central which was closer to chinatown and Darling Harbour.

  • I generally copy paste the description and you can find out which hotel it is. Some are smart and change it around now, but works in most cases :)

  • +2

I work for a 4.5* hotel in the city and Wot deal is a great deal, you pay around $110-$150 for a 4-5* hotel. Most of them are good or great hotels, but just please please read the terms and conditions properly. It is a Wot/mystery hotel deal which means you do not know which hotel you are going to and bedding configuration is not guaranteed. Even though it gives you an option of 1x King or Twin room, your request is NOT guaranteed, it depends on the hotel's availability.

It is a great way to fill up the hotel, to sell the room fast. We have occasional complains saying they choose king etc… some guests understands what you explain to them, some people are just ignorant and find it a false advertising..

so, if you are booking a room for a romantic getaway, anniversary or for whatever reason, better to avoid Wot/mystery room

    hope that helps.

  • Works well if you don't particularly care where you are. Last time we got Crowne Plaza on the Gold Coast. No issues at all and super hotel.
