    if you can't do 20 tabs on even the most low-end $299 spinning-platter HDD laptop with 2GB ram and maintain responsiveness, then you aren't using a half-decent ad-blocker.

    either that or chrome has really gone from bad to worse with regards to the services it has running in the background since the last time I tried it

    or you simply have too much crap running in the background, in general.

    Any machine selling today should be able to cope with that.
