Sorry this is my first post, I didn't realize I had to do that, I just wanted people's opinions.
My apologize akd
Looks like rubbish, spend a bit extra and get a Redmi note
Thank you nocure,I will defo look in to the Redmi note.
Appreciate your kind reply, as this is my first post.
Have a nice day :)
Cheers
Rough guide - if it's a Chinese Brand that is not Xiaomi, Meizu, Lenovo or LeEco/LeTV, then steer clear.
If you need a less than $100 phone, grab a Huawei, ZTE or Alcatel Pixi locally.Thank-you scubacoles, I think it probably is even though it's shipped from NSW? it's doesn't mention any of the names you have, so i wont bother, I currently have a Huawei G526 just 2 years old, I know it's an old model, but the battery has to be charged twice a day, and that's a new replacement battery I bought in February this year and I don't do Facebook or Twitter. I only use the internet for general stuff. Even the few replies and original post the battery is more than half gone. I did contact the seller who sold me the battery as it had 12 month warranty and is stuffed in 3-4 months, so they are sending me another battery. Even when then phone is on all night & not being used least 30% battery gone in morning & I need the phone on in case my mum's takes ill. Thank-you for you advice I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and I will look into your suggestions.
Have a nice weekend.
CheersKeep your phone on charge overnight..
Thanks scubacoles I will do that but make room so the charger can be in my room that way I'll defo hear it, as at moment the charger is in lounge.
Much appreciated your suggestions & your time.
Cheers :)Hi, just been thinking about your comment which I took in good faith, I just hope you were not taking the piss, as anything said by txt can come across as patronizing, and I guess it was a stupid question afterall. I have the phone basically constantly on charge and am sick of it. I'd like to go out and have the phone last at least a day. I don't do Facebook, Twitter, for the simple reason I can get abused anytime just going about my own business, that's just my opinion. I know it has some good points, but it's not for me, and I'm not an old person. See why I am justifying myself I have no idea. I hope I've not offended you scubacoles as I took your comments as genuine. I think I'll stop now before I make things worse. Appologies
It was genuine.. and no offence taken.
I was responding to this bitEven when then phone is on all night & not being used least 30% battery gone in morning
If you keep it on charge all night, at least then you'll start the morning at 100% instead of 70%…
Most people charge their phones overnight for that reason. If you don't use data services regularly, then turning off mobile data saves HEAPS of battery.
I'm at the end of my billing month and have hit my data limit, so had to turn off data today.. Normally my phone would be in the 40% battery range by now, instead it's at 76%. The only difference being data off.
Make sure GPS is also turned off, cause that sucks battery too.
@scubacoles: Thanks so much for your reply and added tips that's handy to know, Thanks. I initially didn't even think your comments were not genuine, I just had a bad habit of second guessing everything, as I don't usually post things.
I really appreciate your extra tips and I will make sure I turn them off. I'm glad I've not offended you, as that's the last thing I would want to do, you're very kind.
Many thanks again,
Cheers :)
Like scubacoles, I wouldn't recommend any of the random ones you see on aliexpress or similar sites.
I catch up on gizchina for news on Chinese phones, and I would suggest sticking to the better lesser known brands like - UMI, Elephone, Ulephone, Cubot, Doogee, Oukitel and some of the others mentioned if you want something really cheap, though not as cheap as the Xgody(!?).
Hi,
Thanks Rorschach, after reading what scubercole and now yourself I thought it might be better if I spend at bit more and get something more reliable. I have seen the name elephone but not looked at it. Also yesterday I noticed a Samsung Galaxy mega 5"8 for what seemed a good price & the couple of reviews I read seemed ok. It was coming from China, then I saw the exact same phone for $1000 price difference? Any ideas as to why that be & also have you heard anything about this Samsung Galaxy mega 5"8.
Thanks again for your suggestions
Much appreciatedWhat price are you getting it for?
I gather you're looking at massive phones?Hi
It was on eBay for $166
Yes I am after a big screen so I don't have to pay out for Internet on my phone & my laptop.
CheersI wouldn't recommend any of the mid range Samsungs to anyone, especially the older models. This one in particular seems to have a weak processor and just 1.5 gigs of RAM.
I honestly believe your money would be better spent on a Xiaomi, check out the deal posted earlier. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime are both 5.5" (slightly smaller than the Galaxy Mega). Or wait a while and save up for the Mi Max!? Any bigger and it would better just buying a tab :)
Research on the supported bands, expandable memory, etc as well, I haven't really looked into them.
@Rorschach: Thank-you Rorschach,
I really appreciate your advice and taking the time to put your thoughts. I was a little dubious of that Samsung model, as the saying goes seems too good to be true, it was usually is. I just can't believe the amount of people buying especially the Xgody one I initially mentioned, that's what caught my attention, I just thought the amount of people buying them and their follow up comments, I thought they must be ok
I'm just glad I put a post on here, and thank you and everyone for their advice. I really appreciate it & I will look into the ones you mentioned in your last post.
Thanks so much :)@3lions: Cheers, mate!
It would be nice, if you could put the link to the product.
