What is $3: The '3-for-$3' meal is a McDonald's speciality. The most utilitarian of possible meal combinations, one cheeseburger, one small fries and a small coke. Catch it if you can. It just popped up in my local drive-thru, much to my late night delight. If it is not available near you? Your hack, Er option, is this:
One McDonald's Cheeseburger is $2.70 (06/16 VIC).
You then present your pre-filled [feedback form (https://mcdonalds.com.au/feedback). This adds fries, 10 chicken 'bites' OR a small soft serve cone. You choose, but a small fries adds to build a traditional meal. Then add anything to your order to raise the price over $3. This is 30c+ Do you want a soft serve (50c) or cookies ($1) or something downright crazy (link to 24 nuggets $9.95)?
Then, flash your student edge card. I am a student, so I have one. You may need to ask a friendly student to borrow theirs. Rarely checked, rarely questioned. FREE Drink. I usually just go for Coke, but have asked for iced tea, hot tea, etc – just ask, you might land a milkshake.
