Buy x% off iTunes Gift Card for use in Mac App Store

Has anyone tried buying iTunes Gift Cards at whatever % off they can find and then used the credit in the Mac App Store to buy Apple Software? I'm planning on buying Logic Pro X and a 20-25% iTunes discount would make for a pretty hefty saving on the software cost.

This FAQ https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT202152 suggests that you should be able to but I don't want to buy cards only to find there is a fine-print I'm missing.

    iTunes balance applies to the Mac App Store too. So you will be good.

    The whole purchasing inside the Apple Ecosystem is linked through your iTunes account so there's absolutely no problem with what you're doing, find the best discount for iTunes gift cards, add it to your account and go at it :)
