  • Looks like $166 on the website

  • Where does it say $150?

  • You guys were too quick! Website took 20 seconds longer to update.

  • cheap price - shame it costs more including shipping than it does to get it at my local pc store.

  • nice price, but i hate places that you cant check shipping without creating an account… or am i missing something?

    Delivery, Payment and Additional Charges

    • Shipping if required is charged at $5 for Perth metro area, $12 for West Australia Country and $19 Australia Wide, regardless of order size. We reserve the right to refuse / change price for very large orders. Or you can pick up your purchace from our store in Osborne Park.
    • What! $19 for shipping such a small item to Melbourne!
That makes it $169 which is not that attractive a price for a slow drive albeit a 2TB one.

You could always buy more than one. I'll be buying two, for example.

    See here:

For issues when running Western Digital Advanced Format drives on anything other than Windows Vista or 7.

    Otherwise, good price :)

    • Did you publish a step-by-step guide, afterall?

      • I'm afraid i haven't yet :(

It's a matter of finding a slab of time where i can write out proper instructions that make sense to people who may not be big time computer geeks which is a bit tricky when it comes to formatting hard drives using command line tools under linux :P

I'll be sure to put a proper guide up on whirlpool or something and link it either here or the ozbargain forums.

        • Hey — no pressure. I'm looking forward to it, though. Perhaps you could publish a (pre-release) rough cut in the forums, and sharpen it up over time (perhaps with help from those motivated.)

late April WD released a graphical version of the align tool for XP that is very simple to use

    Good price, especially in WA.

I'd love to see a Samsung HDD deal, though — the WDAF freaks me out.

    $169 include $19 delivery,5% insurance(optional), 2.3% surcharge of paypal or credit card.
    Better buy from MSY.

    • $169 shipped to Melb. Better off going to MSY where its $169 for everyday low price like you said and easier to get warranty.

    • +1

people, what happens if you buy 4.. its under 5 bux shipping per drive…

155 vs 169 or approx 14 dollars per drive saving, quite a bit…

id grab four, but unsure if my raid card would support them… returning something like that will be painful.

  • True, the shipping is the rip-off

    • eh? seems fair to me. unless you don't want any padding or that?

      • +1

Last time i bought a hard drive from netplus the hard drive was just mailed in a used ms windows box. The only padding was some anti static bags motherboards come in. The hard drive almost fell out when I was pulling the bags out because the one bag it was in wasnt taped shut.

        • fair enuf. havent ordered anything from them myself online.

  • Ok so the general consensus is with delivery its not really worth it but pick up is ok.

    • unless your buying multiple drives…and at this price, its not a bad idea.

  • I bought one from them last week when they were advertised as "$159 special price for today only". Except it was the same price for the next 4 days, and who knows how many days before when I found the ad!

Could have waited till today and saved $9 :P

  • +1

I +'d cos $150 is a good price if you can pick up/get delivered to Perth. But being from Melbourne, i'd probably just go down to MSY. Thanks anyway :)

Bugger! I just orderd 6 x WD20EARS HDD's from another place this morning.

Oh well at least I'll get them here tomorrrow!

    Good price but!

    • 6 :)

  • $19 shipping hurts if you only want one drive…

  • -1

Ok seriously… How the heck can you charge $19 dollars for postage to the Sydney/NSW area? That is a joke for such a small and low-weight item. Sure $19.00 for a 22 inch screen or something maybe, but for a 300 gram hard drive? What a rort… Sorry.

    • +3

I guess its because they charge 19 bucks no matter how much you order. Probably easier to administer. They may also have a simple shopping cart that is too difficult to configure based on postcodes and quantities.

    • +1

I am guessing that they really hate posting things.

    • +2

      300 gram? at least 700g

    • +3

Where can I get these 300gram 3.5" harddrives?.

    • they are based in WA, try sending something to WA from the east cost, can be a little more expensive…

  • good to see that WA isnt missing out on the bargains
but too bad the shipping is too much :(

  • +1

+1 for Netplus, they're pretty good. Helen at the Myaree store is really nice.
although i don't need any drives at the moment. not that i can afford any even if i needed them.

  • +2

Netplus has been known to sell cheap drives.

Cheap as in price wise. not quality wise. Don't get me wrong!

  • +3

I think it's a good bargain despite the short time it's available for. Even though I'm in NSW, I appreciate the bargain :)

  • It's good that both their shops had stock - makes it easier for people SOR to drop in and take advantage of the deal.
