I think, a well made quality item, on sale for near the price of a poor quality "cheap" version is a bargain. I think finding something I need and want at a price I can afford a bargain. I think % off vouchers to good places to eat are bargains.
I* do not think 49 cent crap from China is a bargain, I do not think grey imports are a bargain. I do not think being targeted daily by people that sell these things on one of my favourite deal sharing sites is a bargain, or even acceptable, I feel like I am voluntarily reading spam.
What Is Your Definition of a Bargain?

Yep NikkiRose You need a NikkiRoseBargain site.
OzB is a site to share. Like a bus, its going to make stops at locations u dont want to go to.
Live with it or start NRBargains
In nikkirose's case I think there is a smelly homeless man touting for change that is spoiling the ride.
Luckily, it is trivial to block everbuying, aliexpress, geekbuying or whatever stores they do not wish to see. Go to "My Account", "edit", "deals"

As mentioned above, I'm sorry that we don't just purely cater for you. Do you also go to Maccas and complain that the menu has too many options that you would never eat? Call the local government and complain that there's too many streets that you'd never use, and you hate looking at them?
I mean, I don't play MMO games, but I just skipped right past this post.
It worries me that this is a serious forum post…
Yeah the recent spree of <$1 keychains and other shit is mildly annoying, but the Signal:Noise ratio is still reasonable. If the site becomes dominated by useless junk I'll stop coming for sure.
Everyone's idea of what a "bargain" is when they see it (or imagine it like we're doing here I guess) perceived as fixed when the reality is that it's exceptionally malleable and is largely irrational.
For example a scenario that most people have encountered is walking into a shop and seeing a very expensive item and then walking past it and seeing something else. You are more likely to see the something else as a bargain after you saw the number on the expensive item. It does not matter if you now know this, the affect still occurs and alters behavior completely subconsciously. This is of course why the RRP exists. This way of manipulating groups (it isn't "mind control" on an individual level) is well known and usually referred as the anchoring effect.
There are many other irrational things that affect your sense of what a bargain is such as whether you just had a sugary drink.

Anyone with a girlfriend/wife knows how much they love to play this card - "Well at least I didn't spend $X"
Cheapest price available for a quality item/service. Everyone's perception of a bargain is different. While some people may consider free online courses to be great bargains due to the learning they receive for free, others might consider them spam and a waste of time.
I like how Ozbargain caters for all users and not just a select target audience :)
For me, the purpose of Ozbargain is to provide knowledge of items and prices so i can make an informed choice when purchasing an item and to minimise its cost.
Gaming doesn't interest me, nor does a raft of other products but I do appreciate them being posted as it does provide a yardstick to compare products should I be required to purchase them.
I guess a bargain is a product you were going to buy anyway, for a price less than when you usually buy it.
These are years old
