  • Tempting, just a question how often do you swap the filter out?

    • +1

I have an indicator so I juse use ~ two full indicators before I change, because Im not constantly filling up.

      I think it's 1-2 months change.

      • My indicator says 50% from 100%, no clue how to use the thing.

        • +1

Sometimes I just eye ball it, if there is mould I clean it/change it.

Aussie water is pretty good to drink as is I guess. But yeah…

      • The indicator just counts down a month. So two indicators is 2 months.
I do the same thing, reset it when I see it is flashing and go another month.

  • +2

I think the indicator on mine goes down to 0 after a month. I generally swap it out closer to the 2 month mark.

Thanks Turd, I just used my $15 ebay voucher so brings each to $3.86 for me!

  • temping I do not know how long my Britta chiller will last…

    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/sunbeam-brita-water-filter…

  • 2 months per filter.

  • Good to remove turds

  • Do you guys think that this filter will fit in this water chiller? @Kmart?

    http://www.kmart.com.au/product/hm-water-chiller/615840?gcli…

    • No

    • I currently use the kmart filters for this machine in my brita jug so I don't see why they wouldn't vice versa

  • -3

    tap water is best.
this is a waste of money

  • They're labelled genuine but is there any risk they're not as good as AU stock? Any fake products?

    • http://www.ozaroo.com/ pretty legit company in the UK.

      • i think you mean Northern Ireland

        • +6

Northern Ireland is part of the U.K.

Last I checked, unless BREXIT made them a whole new place?

  • Supposedly according to a rep from Brita on one of the last local deals with the hideous lipstick kiss jugs, there is a difference between the UK filters (this deal) and the Australian filters. The UK filters are only rated for one month whereas the Australian ones are rated for two months. I can testify that the UK jugs I received on a previous deal only have a one month countdown timer, whereas the Australian ones I had previously had two months.

Whether it is true or not I don't know, but nevertheless it is a great deal.

    • Oh I dunno. But these are the Cartridges surely they are the same and that the local marketing person is trying to do some spin on why we by Australian products?

Why would a company like Brita make different countdown timers or such for different countries? Seems a waste of money unless 3rd party middle men/women want their share of the expensive Australia Tax.

      • +1

I can concur with Daabido re the countdown timers. I have both the Kiss jug and another from a previous UK deal and use both (one for my espresso machine the other for drinking). Can confirm the UK version definitely counts down twice as fast. I also thought the UK version cartidges had a stronger carbon sediment taste but wasn't sure if it was just my imagination. I think there is a difference - maybe the UK versions use stronger carbon filters (for their harder water) and hence the taste?

        • Ahh may make sense, and kinda why for me ~2 months for one cartridge for me, Ive always bought online so they must be UK ones.

    • +1

Just a guess but probably not because the filters are different but the water in UK is harder, so it clogs the filter more quickly.

      • That was the response from the Aus brita rep.
Out of curiosity, I weighed both Australian brita filters (made in Germany), and the ones from ozaroo (made in UK), the ozaroo ones were consistently heavier than the filters sold in Aus

        • +1

So UK ones are heavier, has more stuff and cheaper

Aus ones are lighter has less stuff and more expensive?

        • @Turd: Are these filters gluten free?

        • @getcarter:

          They are:

Plutonium free, uranium free, cyanide free, cat free, dog free, and hexapod free. Not sure about endoplasmic reticulum free.

  • Been using a UK Jug from the last 6 X filter deal changed every 2 months, 30 of them now ordered thanks OP.

  • Might be a silly question, but do these filters expire or become less effective as they age? 15 filters will take a long time to use up, so don't want to find out by the time I get to the last few that they have become useless.

    • The activated carbon inside the filters has an almost indefinite shelf life, so long as they are kept inside their original packaging.

  • +2

    The listing shows its $96.35?
    Is there a discount code?

  • +2

    price up, shit seller

  • -1

    Nice find

Stocked up from the groupon deal , but now I have some extra jugs too so all good

  • +2

Seller jacked up the original price, no deal.

    • I knew this would happen, so I told profesional ozbargainers to ozbargain it all!! we made 21 packs in total sold! $1532!

  • -5

    Useless water filter.
Get some real water filters http://www.waterfiltersaustralia.com.au/

  • David Jones is doing 30% sale off brita products.

  • +1

Based on how often i change my filters these should last me close to 30years

  • If I may ask. What's the benefit of filtered water vs normal tap water?

    • +1

More the taste than anything. Here in QLD, the water tastes a bit "earthy" for my liking.
