well thinking about travelling to Cambodia in Oct-Nov this year.
I'm thinking of going to Ankor Wat (of course) and another place called Koh Ker.
Has anyone here had any previous experiences travelling around Cambodia?

If you like the beaches head down toward Sihanoukville. It can be a little seedy but great for a visit. You can also take a ferry from there to some of the islands.
If you're more into checking out cities another to visit apart from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap is Battambang, well worth a visit if you have the time.
i'm guessing there are the usual scams there, avoid tuk tuks etc.
is there a more reputable taxi company there?
I actually wouldn't avoid tuk tuks - they were a great way of transport for us, they were cheap and quick. We used them getting to/from the airport and around town too :)
No problem with Siem Reap (Angkor Wat city). The people are simple, friendly and honest. You may get young kids trying to sell you souvenirs at Angkor Wat but they will not hassle you if you decline. Food is quite cheap. You can have Anchor draft for US0.50. Lots of tourists in Siem Reap and I think it's relatively safe compared to other parts of Asia.
Tuk tuks are reliable and safe in Siem Reap. The fares are quite standard. Drivers are flexible and language is not a problem. Paid US$15 dollars (inclusive of tips) for return trip from hotel to Angkor Wat. If you hire a taxi or private car, it may costs you US$30. It's not very far from city, so tuk tuk was okay with me.
The driver can take you to city(quite small) and return at the agreed time to send you back to hotel. Paid US$6 for round trip from hotel to city. He requested me to pay only on the return trip. To me it's a bit risky in case I get a different tuk tuk on the return trip or miss the agreed time. He assured me it will be okay because other drivers will not pinch customers if they know I have something organised and it's his job to recognise and look for me in the busy street. Not sure if other drivers are the same but please don't bargain too hard with them. They are honest and polite.
Take a half day trip from Siem Reap to the floating village.
hmm i've always been a little wary of tuk tuks anywhere to be honest, have always leaned towards the scooter taxi.
what about sim cards?
I'm mainly after a prepaid one with data.
any recommendations?
Head to the Killing Fields and S21 prison in Phnom Penh, very morbid but very interesting and important historical sites that much of the world don't know about
Cambodia is a beautiful country. Keep in mind that most toueisr places would rather you spend with USD rather their local currency
