Trend Micro Internet Security 2 Devices 1 Years Subscription $29.67 at Officeworks

Moved to Forum: Original Link

I am not sure if this is a bargain. My workplace used to have them as their antivirus (corporate license). (What is everyone using for their antivirus nowaday?)

Edit: Get this one wayyy cheaper, thanks to @stevecau http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231990607397?ssPageName=STRK%3AME…

Even Neo uses virus protection now days.

    • Only to protect those that still plug into The Matrix. lol

The kaspersky deal is better value (3 devices for 2 years)

  • How about Maximum Security 6 devices 1 year for $28 (cashback required) at Hardly Normal

    • That is a good deal. I may get this for the Lenovo Yoga 460 that I just ordered a few days ago. I have Nortan 360 (5 devices) for my desktops, but used up all the licenses already…. I just need 1 more license.

I prefer $4.95 for 3 licences, 1 year on eBay

  • I'm just using AVG free for a year

    • I have tried AVG in the past, did not really like it… get a few false positives etc (the free version anyway)…. Norton 360 seemed to be ok but i don't want to spend another $50 just to get 1 more license. I have not tried Trend micro lately..so I don't know its performance now (work place used to have them)….

Antivirus product prices vary so much it's crazy. Sometimes $27.67 is a good price, then a month later they're paying you to buy their product (a couple of years ago I bought Trend Internet Security for -$10).

  • Bought from Ebay, $4.50 for 3 devices-1 year (can't go wrong for this price. I'll download the trial version from the official site and use this key to activate the product). thanks @stevecau.

  • Does it renew each year for $4.50 or back to normal price?

    • I don't know about Trend Micro, but with Norton 360, I just purchase a new one and put in the new activation key. The renewal fee is wayyyyy more expensive. It works ok with Norton 360.

I will try to do the same for this one but I don't know if it will work….will know in a year's time…. anyone with experience in this regard can shed some light….thanks

  • Don't all OzBargainers just use Microsoft Security Essentials (Windows 7) or Windows Defender (Windows 8 - 10) nowadays?

Why would the average person pay for an AV/Firewall when Windows already has a free product (built in from Windows 8.0)?

    • I don't think MSE does stealth on the fly scanning, I think you need to run a scan manually

      • You are misinformed. It's called "Real time protection".

        • I hope you have a good malware program too

        • @stevecau:
Haven't needed one, it does find malware too. I am pretty careful when downloading and installing applications as well, though. If you're following standard security practices it should be enough. On the other hand, if you're going to dodgy websites and downloading dodgy applications, no amount of security is going to save you. Something is going to get you.

I prefer Defender because it's light weight, free and unobtrusive. It doesn't place a huge load on your system.

        • @mattyman: I'd double check by running a trial of malwarebytes

        • @stevecau: I do that from time to time. Still never found anything.

Which gets me back to my previous comment about OzBargainers paying for AV.
