USB C Adapter

Hey everyone,

Was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on USB C adapters for my Macbook 12 inch and hopefully this may come in use for others as well!
I went ahead and ordered this one, as Im looking for something really small and compact (really dont like the ones with the ~4cm cable i.e apple's adapter)

I couldnt find anything comprehensive online explaining the differences in the adapters on the market. I've found 'brand' adapters but didnt see what the extra money was for. for example:

  Apparently lots of cheap adaptors don't meet the spec. So be careful what you buy! A passive USB C to A adaptor is unlikely to meet spec as it needs to have some switching to cope with the two ways you could plug in the USB C end.

  I would personally stick with branded adapters, they are much better quality and offer piece of mind when using with expansive devices such as in your case.
