Building a new gaming comp, need options on parts!

Hey everyone!

I'm planning on building a new gaming comp, and need options on which part is best.
Price i will be spending isn't too much, just between 1.5-2k in total, i can push the price up if needed too.

The parts I have so far or planning to get is:

CPU: i5 6600k (Already have)
Motherboard: Asus Z170 ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO (Purchased)
CPU cooler: Corsair H110i
Memory: 16GB Kit (8Gx2) 3200 Corsair Vengeance LPX (Purchased)
Graphics Card: Msi 1070
Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D (Purchased)
SSD M2: Will be waiting for the M2 SSD
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250gb (This is mainly for windows)
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500gb
1x HDD: Waiting on sale.
PSU: EVGA G2 750w GOLD (Purchased)
Wireless adaptor: Asus PCE-AC68
Monitor 1: BenQ RL2755HM (I will be using this monitor with my ps4)
Monitor 2: Asus VG248QE 24-inch

**Note: Was wondering if its possible to connect my ps4 to the monitor as well with the comp.

Edit1: I have purchased Corsair Obsidian 750D, ROG Maximum VIII Hero MB and 16GB 3200 Corsair Vengenance LPX
Edit2: Just updated my build.
Edit3: Purchased PSU

I would appreciate it if you guys can help with this, or help me find awesome sales for parts as well!
Thanks.

  • for PSU look at the EVGA superflower G2 range
wattage depends on whether you plan on getting two gpus for sli or not.
    i have a a 750w evga G2 which is plenty for my i5 6400/r9 390 setup
    http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list…

so you can check prices yourself go for tier 1.

cant help with monitors but no doubt whatever monitor you get with have display port or dvi port and hdmi ports so you just plug your ps4 into hdmi and pc into dvi or display port if you get a monitor over 1080p

I have my pc plugged into my monitor with DVI and ps4 with HDMI just have to use a button on the monitor to switch between them.

    • Thanks for the link, I looked around and decided to go with the Evga G2 750w gold, but i can't seem to find a store locally that sells it.

      • I bought my psu from Mwave was the cheapest for me once you include postage.

        • Do you know if Mwave have an actual store that allows pick up or is it just a hardware?

        • @piitaalaa: pickup is lidcombe NSW
you have to order online first though before you can pick up as it's a warehouse not an actual store.

        • @Axelstrife: Awesome, I will purchase the PSU online and do a pickup at lidcombe. Thanks for this :)

  • You familiar with https://au.pcpartpicker.com/? It's a good resource for new builds.

    • +1

The link was useful, but i would prefer people opinion as they would have experience with it.

      • In that case check out r/Buildapc on Reddit.

        • Thanks for the link, I made a post and now i'm waiting for suggestions :)

  • Best power supply is Seasonic, get one that suits your budget.

  • This is an excellent website for working out which LCD monitor to buy
    http://www.144hzmonitors.com/gaming-monitors-buyers-guide-ju…

    I'm currently using a budget 24" TN X-Star DP2414LED. It's only a pedestrian 1080" TN display but does 144hz with 1ms GTG response rate.

Very cheap too, you can buy it on eBay for $246 and the DHL shipping takes 3-4 days. (Also get a $50 voucher)

This monitor is also very popular and is mentioned in the guide as one of the best budget 1440p IPS panel displays.

    • I looked through that website yesterday, I was considering that monitor as my main pc monitor.
But the one thing that puts me off is the long distance delivery and the way it is packaged.
I wouldn't want it to be damaged when it arrives, would be a troublesome going through them and waste of time.
If there is a local shop that sells them locally, that would be awesome. Otherwise, I was considering getting the ASUS VG248QE-J
