      .au as in boardgamesearch.com.au

      Boardgamesearch.com redirects elsewhere.
      Great site

      Edit:clarity

  • So we absolutely love Carcassonne and recently acquired Catan. What should we buy next? Looking for something that is family friendly for 2-4 players minimum. 8+ years suitable.

Camel Up, Ticket to Ride, Colt Express, The Castles of Burgundy, Alhambra, 7 Wonders, New York 1901, Power Grid, Istanbul, Splendor. That will keep you busy for a while :)

      • I second Ticket to Ride. Get the euro edition, jokes to be had!

Tokaido is also a quirky japanese themed game. Easy to learn, hard to master.

edit - looks like Tokaido is sold out.

Big thumbs up for Splendor!!! It's a pretty crappy name, but it's one of the best boardgames we've played for years :) Easy to learn, quick to set up, about 1/2 hour to play, and easy pack up (or start another game as we've found). Our 7 and 10 year old are both very good at it, yet the strategies involved keep the adults coming back too :)

Just recently acquired Splendor. Highly recommended from a boardgame noob too! :)

Patchwork is a great two player game.

      Lanterns is a good family-friendly tile-laying game.

Thank you. I like the look of the Lanterns game.

    • paypal hasn't dropped rates as yet.. Pandemic is $51.54 AUD if buying right now. Ozgameshop has it for $54

Should never be using PayPal currency conversion, pretty awful and incurs a profit for then. Pay in pounds using your 28 degrees card (or equivalent), still using PayPal or direct with the card.

  • If you are in the hobby already, $51au for Mombasa is really cheap. Please no one buy it as their early step into modern strategy board gaming. Still not a heavy game on food chain magnate or gallerist level, but still.
And very smooth to play, but crunchy decisions.

A bit less heavy, but still my 3rd or so favourite game is also well priced. Five Tribes comes in about $57au and would definitely recommend at that price. I think it makes a great step up into what I say are middle weight games (or at least above the middle-light such as TtR and Carcassonne, which I also love)

        Great price at $57!

Ticket to tide Europe is coming up around $50 aud too.

Apparently it no longer includes Britain? Can someone confirm?

      • Take at least 2 years for the changes to be made ;)

  • My last order with 365games was pre-ordering Test Drive Unlimited 2 on Xbox 360 back in 2010 :D

  • +1 for a great game (Mysterium) at a good price

  • These are pretty cheap as normally their around $70+. If I had to pick between Catan, Ticket to ride or 7 wonders which should i buy?

    • Have you played any modern board games before, will you normally be playing 2 player or more, and if more than 2 do you think the others will have an interest to play more than once?

2 player - get TtR, i'd suggest Europe as the starting point. Lets you play 5, but the 2 player game is still fun, plus can buy the india map expansion if you love it.

If you feel you'll get a long term group going, get 7 wonders. Amazing game and best with 4/5 I think. But the ability to play 7 is useful, although i'm not in love with the 2 player variant.

Catan wise i've played it minimal times, but I feel its not on most peoples radar any more.
