  Wow is alcohol tax really that high? Chivas Brother Blend is only $65 for 1L duty free.

    It's $81/l of alcohol for spirits. That would mean that a 700ml bottle at 40% = 280ml of alcohol = ~$23 of excise.

  Some great whiskey prices, all cheaper than DM that I checked. Just added a few selections for our 'research' group.

    They might mostly be below DM but in the last two months they've jacked up prices considerably. They had for instance Glenfarclas 105 for under $100, the 21 year old for under $110, and the knockout was Laphroaig Quarter Cask for $67!! Now it's $97… almost a 50% hike! Luckily I grabbed 7 bottles total of the QC back then but am so disappointed I only got one of the Glenfarclas 21 before stock ran out when I see DM has it now at $195!
