That should allow people to look at the deal without logging in.

It ships on Jul 29, 2016, so you would be looking at mid-August to early September (or even later than that) for it to arrive.

I paid for the Blackvue Dashcam from Massdrop back in April, still haven't received my order 2 months later. Not sure if all Massdrops are the same, but I would expect it to be slow

Fairly common I'd say. One of the nice things about Massdrop is that by the time your purchase finally arrives you've forgotten how much you paid or even that you bought it at all, so it feels a bit like getting free stuff in the mail :)

If only utility bills worked like that!

  • +2

Likely will have to pay customs tax on this?

    • Yes. Doubt mass drop would classify it as a "$10 gift"

    • unless by the time they send it the aussie dollar vs USD gets better then it would come below $1000 haha

also they generally won't devalue the product on the customs declaration due to insurance reasons. If this got lost it would be on them to either claim insurance or do a write off.

  • Than*

  • A 'gaming' version of a GTX 1080?

    • It's to manipulate the buyer into believing it's better than another GTX 1080 when it isn't.

      • Except that it is…

        Read before you post.

Well it should be cheaper than Founders Editions :)

I just can't get myself to buy one till they sell at RRP. Even if it's going to take a couple months (Strix!), mind you very painful without any GPU though….

    • I'm planning on buying this as soon as it's in stock http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1257992-REG/evga_08g_p… hehehe
All up it'll be $950 AUD inc Deliv. Should be goooooooooooood stuff. Screw paying $1250 for a STRIX at Mwave or Scorptec. What a load of crap. Price gouging + Aus Tax = NO THANKS

      • Its amazing as it was meant to be around $620-640rrp in the US, so $60-80 less than FE rrp, yet it's $100 more than FE pricing locally… Go figure.

    Hey, this is my first post, but I've been following this GTX 1080 launch like a bloodhound now and this is what I've found;
1)The cheapest way of buying a 3rd party(srsly don't buy FE) card is internationally— and that will probably remain true for a couple of months until price gouging stops.
2)If you can wait a few weeks, try buying a 1080 that hits under that $1000 threshold, that way you don't pay that ridiculously high tax.
3)If you can do 2) and are okay with not having a local warranty(which isn't that bad if the shipping cost isn't high, plus the place you buy it from has a decent warranty anyway) then you could probably score a top end 3rd party 1080 for about $950 (incl delivery).

This is my first post, so please be nice lol(idk if this is allowed) but this is what I plan to do (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1257992-REG/evga_08g_p…)

It'll be available for pre-purchase I assume, within a week or two, and delivered in a similar time. Because it sits below that magic $1000 AUD ($679.99 USD = $912.18 AUD, then + delivery, which will vary, but is usually less than $30) (which makes the total about 700USD, which is BELOW the tax threshold that is contributing to our local $1200 + prices)

Unless you want to wait several months, the best bet is to do something like that — also try scouring for coupon codes that give you "10%" off and free shipping etc. You may well end up being able to keep it down to $900. Hope that helps! (I should have said anything because you guys are probs going to buy all the stock and make me wait :( :( )

    • Wasn't there a Amazon deal for $850 or something a week or so ago …

    • +2

Yeah I took advantage of the Coles reloadable MC (no int fees) to get as much as possible without going over the $1000AU limit.

I'm waiting for EVGA to release the hybrid, hopefully Amazon will have it below the magical ~$730US delivered.

      • +1

I'm also waiting on the hybrid from EVGA. Their international warranty is the best.

    • If you don't mind doing sure F5ing, I suggest ordering from newegg rather than bh because bh already have a huge list of backorders.

Newegg only let you order when it's in stock. I ordered one from newegg last week and it's already in Sydney. Hoping to get it this week.

$24 cheaper than the Gainward GLH at local MSY. You'll most likely wait a couple months as others have alluded to. Not a bargain in my eyes.

Yup I would 100% not be buying this from MD for several reasons:

      1. MD is notorious for overseas shipping taking weeks if not months after the deal is ended

      2. By the time it gets here, the prices may have dropped enough to get Amazon or Newegg express shipped without any nonsense

      3. Do not want to deal with O/S warranty issues particularly with MD involved, their customer support is bullshit and I have had several tickets opened and closed without any discussion
