I'll agree with you Trent, bought one of these last year and it's pretty damn good for its size, even more so at this price.

  • Got one thanks you.

  • $26 at Officeworks

    • They should do the 5% price beat, right?

      • Nope as they dont have X100 only X50

        • then why is it sale at $26? online only?

  • Does this have Aux port?

    • +6

      Pretty sure it does

      • Mine ain't

        • +1

Are you sure all 4 of mine have an aux input

  • You can't go wrong with these. Got one already

  • +1

    Thanks! bought one

edit - can you pair 2 of these to play at the same time?

    • +1

Buy 4 and you have surround sound.

  • great little speaker. clear and loud.

  • +6

Note that the shipping on eBay might be more expensive. Quoted $8 on eBay vs $5 directly through the store for me. Obviously not worth it for the 1.5% cashback.

      • Get it with the free Click & Collect?

        • I was obviously just pointing this out for people who are getting it posted.

        • C&C will not work once you get to the stage where you select your store.

        • @twosixfiveoh:
It worked for me. I just got mine today.

        • @soupiejr: Just checking - did you order by:
OPTION 1: Going to www.thegoodguys.com.au OR
OPTION 2: Buying it through The Good Guys store on eBay?
[Don't worry if you can't tell me. I just walked in and picked up one.]

        • @twosixfiveoh:
I got mine through the Good Guys' eBay store. Picked it up at their local store.

  • Bought one too, thank you!

  • Thanks op

  • thanks OP, bought an x50 last week, returned it as it doesn't have the hands free speakerphone function of the x100 was going to buy one at $29.95 so this is even better!

p.s the x50 sounded great so can only assume the x100 is similar, already have a ue roll 1 for louder music etc, need this for the car!

    • Eh so much trouble, why not just go straight for car bluetooth or aux?

  • +1

Got one for the camping trips . Battery lasts forever also. 10/10

  • In term of sound & battery quality, How does this compare to this Toshiba's from HN http://www.harveynorman.com.au/toshiba-wireless-bluetooth-po…?

    • Possibly longer battery life.

      Review here:
      http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/review/toshiba/ty-sp1_blueto…

    • +3

I own the Toshiba and had the x50. Very similar, Toshiba more controls and longer battery life, but not quite as loud 9still v good though) as x50. Also annoyingly loud beep that can't be turned off every time turned on. Downside to Toshiba is their use of mini usb instead of microusb which is what EVERY other adaptor I have is! other than that, it's a very good little unit as well.

      • Thanks for the comment. I found the volume setting on Toshiba quite tricky, ie have to hold 2s

      • +5

I now own (or have), the x50, x100 and Toshiba sp1, as well as the UE boom 2, UE mini boom, and the UE roll (yes I have a problem!) The x50 and 100 sound as like as can't really be told apart, the tosh again v similar. Limited bass obviously but then the UE boom 2 is wizardry, it just has a terrible standby drain, so no good for occasional use as Sod's law means it's flat when wanted! The x100 fills the car well and is good for handsfree calling too, shame it's not waterproof like the roll or I'd stick it on the handlebars for weekend rides! For $15 it's a no brainier, and massively louder than any phone speakers.

        • +2

          (yes I have a problem!)

You can say that again, I am feeling better about myself already!

        • How does it compare to the UE mini boom?

        • @groook:

The mini boom is richer (bigger cabinet and bigger drivers/amp) and if the UE roll had NFC and a mic, then it would have been the true successor to the mini boom. The x100 is obviously not as loud nor as deep bass, but in use as a handsfree it's spot on, and as long as you're not listening to drum and bass expecting it to burst your eyeballs it'll do the job fine. I was always surprised at just how good the mini boom was and for the price untouchable. battery life I think the mini boom lasted a long time, a lot longer than the Ue boom (not at the same volume mind you!) but again enough to be heard all over my garden at about 20m away fine.

        • @groook: I picked up my X100 last night and compared it to the mini boom I've been using for a few years. I'm not sure why, by the X100 sounded much louder, and it connected and played a lot faster via Bluetooth. There was almost no delay in communication between my phone and the speaker. It's really weird, becuase the X100 is smaller than the UE Mini Boom. Maybe my mini boom is getting a bit old and tired, I'm not sure. For $15, it's a no brainer for me. I'm picking up a couple more for my parents.

        • @S3ISOR: I think the x100 is a more 'immediate' sound. Because it excels at mid range (where, incidentally, human hearing has evolved to be more sensitive) it sounds more 'present'. as a fully rounded sound it isn't but that's why bass is often 'boosted' as to get the same volume of bass response in the human ear requires more sound pressure.

It's also probably because the mini boom supported an older BT standard and this is more up to date, meaning wider data transfers.

        • @seraphim2017: That makes a lot of sense :). The X100 does sound better to me, but it might not be technically better. My experience with Bluetooth with my UE Mini Boom really turned me off Bluetooth audio devices, but the X100 (and it's speed) has awoken some interest again.

        • (yes I have a problem!)

You didn't get the $7.50 Woolies one? ^^

  • Anyone have the Sony SRS-X3 to compare the X100 with?

    • +2

X3 is far better than X100, different level of product

      • Ok, probably better to let the kids have the X100 then :)

    • +1

Yes, I have both. The Sony is a lot heavier, more expensive, way louder, heaps more bass, better sound overall, but battery life is only 4-5hrs at half volume. The X100 lasts at least 8 hrs, maybe more if not full volume. It sounds amazing for its size, but obviously bass is not that strong. I use the Sony mainly at home and the X100 when travelling, as it is so small and light, you can fit it in your pocket.

  • thanks, good for gifts

  • Bought one. Thanks OP. Hope they're decent..

  • I've got one right here at my desk and like it a lot. Sitting here trying to decide if I really need two. Ripper of a price, though.

    • will it work as stereo ? If yes then I might get another one.

      • No. Mono only.

        • +4

I'll stick to one then. Thanks mate..

        • +4

@Chintan: probably the most sensible comment on OzBargain this year

        • +1

          Mono…………. D'OH!

  • -3

clear, loud? I would be surprised if 1.5w is any louder than the phone speakers

    • +6

      much louder than phone speaker

      • ..and much clearer.

      • -5

        its 1.5w, why bother???????????????????

  • getting processing issues of getting this through PayPal…site might be getting hammered…errr…ozbargained.

    • I've never been able to use PayPal on their site for some reason, get processing issues every time.

    • Not sure they allow amex card via PayPal,what method of funding are you using on your PayPal account?

  • This is in store as well right?

    • Yeah should be, I'm heading in in about 20 mins :)

    • yes

    • Yep, just got back from the Highpoint (Vic) store.
Had to do a few laps back and forth from the counter to the speakers because every speak I grabbed was reserved for someone else.
      There was about 6-7 Black/grey, 4 Cyan/green, 4-5 yellow/purple, 3 Orange/blue.
Those are what I saw on the shelf but they might be reserved, who knows.
I couldn't order online as it was out of stock.

  • Agreed, great little speaker. May get a couple more for stocking fillers or Secret Santa.

  • these speakers are great! bought one last year and i bring it with me everywhere i go. used it in a 8 hour road trip across SA the other wkend and the battery lasted me damn well

  • +1

Got 1 since everyone here says it is a good buy.Thanks.

  • +2

I bought one of these and it was great, until i managed to lose it overseas somewhere shortly after buying it.
I replaced it with an Xiaomi bluetooth speaker which cost me about $20 from banggood, and that turned out to be an even better speaker.

But this logitech unit is a great little portable speaker, especially for the price.

    • which xiaomi speaker did you get?
      this one? http://www.banggood.com/Original-Xiaomi-Portable-Wireless-Bl…

      • No not that one. Sorry I should have specified which one, didnt realise there were multiple.

        This one:
        http://www.banggood.com/Original-Xiaomi-1200mAh-Black-Square…

Looks like the price has increased a bit on it though, now selling for $35!
I think the white one is practically the same thing, slightly cheaper.

Depends if you want a far better quality speaker for a bit more money, but given the choice knowing what I know I would pay the extra and get the xiaomi (though maybe wait and keep an eye out for a price drop)

        • US$35, not Oz$

        • @turbodude:
          $26AUD including shipping.
          http://m.gearbest.com/speakers/pp_259606.html

Thanks for the awareness, I was about to get the x100 but will happily pay an extra $5-10 for the stereo and louder speaker.

My dad tends to use the phone every morning listening to news etc but having a portable speaker to bring even into the bathroom would be cool too, great fathers day present considering it'll take a month to arrive.

        • @Zeral:

No support for playing audio while charging? Odd.

          No 3.5" jack, also odd.

        • @cheesecactus:
Ya I originally wanted a 3.5mm port too then figured I never actually use an audio cable let alone own one.

Didn't know about the can't play while charging though so it really depends on what youre after.
If you want a speaker that sits in one spot playing all day get something else, but I'm not gonna say a mono speaker is better than a stereo.

        • +2

@cheesecactus: that description is not accurate. mine plays audio while charging.

  • +25

Bought one since I don't need it.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Wife has wanted a bluetooth speaker for years and this fits the profile nicely :)

    • +8

      You cheap b$&terd. :)

    • +5

For years? And you're still married to her?

      • Haha have woo'ed her with plenty of significantly more expensive things in its place… the cost profile just never quite fit for this one.

        And yes, for years :)

        • +1

lol. "plenty of significantly more expensive things in its place" - how are you an OzBargainer again?

        • @spy: all at bargain prices of course

        • @kcbworth: phew.

        • @spy: FYI plenty of OZB freebies/almost freebies have been nice little gifts also #protip. E.g. got some nice items from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/218876

        • @kcbworth: nice one, and I missed out. Wasn't checking OzBargain with devotion.
