[Expired] Sydney NSW Only: Rhino Racks 80% off RRP for Specific Car Models

150

If you click on the Rhino Rack website you will see that they are giving 80% off racks for specific models.

http://www.rhinorack.com.au/
[15/5/2010 - edited URL to point to main site, as RhinoRack have taken this off their page]

Basically Rhino Rack Australia is trying to get pictures of all the different cars so they can put it on their marketing material / website, and are looking for quite a few models.

My car is going in this coming Friday. It took them around 4 weeks to get around to calling me and I had given up hope, but strangely enough the call came through on the day I was about to book and pay full price.

  • Interesting bargain. I looked up my mazda on their rack selector page and basically a $309 roof rack comes to $61.80 so a very handy saving.

Although I must admit it doesn't look that great on the photo they've got (ironically my exact car and colour). I can imagine these would look great on a compact SUV and for some reason I see this looking great on a Subaru Forrester. +ve from me.

  • so not everyone is going to get 80% off?

  • +1

might want to mention must be in NSW in the title

    • No SA :(
      Need 1 for Mazda 3

      • Maybe you can see if someone with the same model Mazda is willing to pick one up as part of this deal, and then sell it to you (+ shipping to SA of course). You never know, there could be a kind OzBargainer here :)

    • That's why I mentioned Sydney, but I will see if I can edit it.

  • And they need your car for the entire day, so you might want to take into account that they are based at Rydalmere, Sydney.

Otherwise, if you are in need of a reasonably good 2 bar roof rack system for not a lot of money, then you had better get in quick cos it looks like they only need one car of each make and model in their list.

Alternatively, you could maybe sell it on eBay as an almost new item for probably a lot more than the price it cost you ;-)

Still a +ve from me as it could be a good deal for someone who fits the above.

  • I think they are just trying to clear up some old stocks as it is only available to certain model of the vehicles. And most of them are dated back at least 2005.

And they even have a typo on the page and did not fix it.

    sigh……

  • Rhino racks looks crap (compared to Thule) but at 80%, nice if you are eligible and need a rack.

  • Reading info looks like they want to use your car for marketing purposes.

"All you have to do is bring your vehicle to our head office (3 Pike st Rydalmere NSW 2116) so we can photograph our Roof Racks on your vehicle. It's that simple"

"We will need your vehicle for a full day. Plus there are a few Terms & Conditions, like the car needs to be spotlessly clean and in good shape. Busted up cars with dings, dents, big scratches need not apply."

  • lol porche, bmw, merc
the people who own these types of cars shouldnt be looking at these sort of bargains haha (maybe except 3 series and below and c class and below owners), but then why whould you need roof racks on those cars

  • Well I put in all 3 family cars. Wonder if i will get a single one :S

  • i called and they said no problem the quote was 61.00 for the xtrail, sweet

  • I got my car done 2 weeks ago. Can't complain, got $300+ roof racks supplied and installed for $63.

They are using your car for a photo shoot for their catalog.

  • Just got my car done. Spoke the the people there and they got a massive influx of enquiries/registrations since the post on OzBargain - so where are the votes? :P Anyway, they've upped their photo sessions to twice a week to cope with the load and taken the discount page away from the main site, so I have edited the URL so that it no longer points to a page that is not publically accessible.
