Does anyone has any experience with one of those portable power bank car jump starter? They seem handy to have in the car (fit in a glove box), for emergency situation where you forget to turn off the head light and car battery goes flat. They seem quite cheap, selling around $100 on eBay. Can they really jump start a car? (I am thinking of getting one). Many thanks

Thank you for the feed back. Are they ok to be left in the car, temperature in the car can be quite hot in summer?
haha, good questions. no point in not being able to store it in the car and having to ring a mate to bring you your powerbank so you can jump start your car.
Also what is the discharge on this thing - how often would you need to check that it has enough capacity for a jump start?
Yup they're good. I've used it to start cars with batteries that are almost completely stuffed.
