Fellow Ozbargainers who bought the laptop of the year last year…
I'm sourcing the drivers from here (here's a screenshot)
So I've read through the old deals with all the information. Apparently there's no need to install the Elantech Touchpad driver to get the Touchpad working touchpad drivers will be installed through the Intel Serial IO Driver. However, this seemed to be more the case for Windows 8.1 (w/ BING).
When I'm trying to install that, I get this error message.
I've googled for the solution and found this but this isn't applicable (I can't find that section in the BIOS).
Just to clarify, when the BIOS Touchpad setting is set to "Basic" it works fine, but doesn't work in "Advanced" and I'd like to get it to work in Advanced mode.
Oh also, I haven't figured out which thing to install to get all my Fn keys working properly. I assume it's this? Fn keys all seem to work right now (except for turning of WiFi with Fn + F3), but there's no visual indicator for anything except for volume and brightness.
Can anyone help? Thanks!
Summary of relevant stuff (TLDR):
- If BIOS Touchpad setting is "Basic", touchpad will work, but not when it's "Advanced". How do I get it to work in "Advanced"?
- Clean installed Windows 10 64 bit
- Tried to install Intel Serial IO Driver but says "Platform not supported"
- Tried googling for solution, but solution does not apply to this laptop as the setting to adjust cannot be found in the BIOS
- How do I get my Fn keys to give me a visual indicator when things are toggled between on/off? Currently only volume adjust and brightness adjust give a visual indicator
- I currently still have this shown as not being installed under "Other devices" in the Device Manager - anyone know what it is? Right-click update driver and trying to search online didn't get anything
update bios?
