Where Can I Sell My 1998 Camry - Guaranteed?

Moving to Melbourne from Sydney, so need to sell my old Toyota Camry 1998 model auto car asap. It's been sitting in garage for last 6 months but in fairly ok state to drive. Not getting luck on Gumtree and Carsguide.

I am running out of time due to my move date coming very close. So wondering where can I sell it asap and guaranteed in Sydney (preferably around Parramatta, Blacktown etc).

For about $100 just based on the description, possibly less

  • Sell it for a price 'too good to refuse'..

  • You can sell your car to me guaranteed for $1.

Speaking as someone who once sold a broken ute for $250, your price is likely too high.

Hey, I am a uni student who's located in Blacktown. I don't have much money, but perhaps if you were trying to get rid of it, or giving it the wreckers, maybe we can arrange something? Cheers.

Rather than selling, I'd be calling a car removalist and trying to get $100-$150 cash for it, as well as the benefit of not having to leave your home to sell the car, or time involved in transferral forms and the potential costs associated. This option is both ASAP and guaranteed. If you are a strong negotiator, you could get $200-$300. In 2012, I secured $240 for my mother's 98' Verada and I considered that a good deal.

I can't see any dealer looking to make you a serious offer for a 98' Camry either.

  • What does "fairly ok" mean?

To sell any vehicle you'll need a thorough description and some photos to go with it. Have you tried this?

First rule of wanting to sell, is to name a price.
Second rule is to list the car details like kms, registered to etc.

The same would be required here so people can give you an opinion on why its not selling thru Gumtree or cars guide

  • Don't forget, the car's true value is whatever someone is willing to pay. It is definitely not whatever you think you can get for it.

  • You will probably get a better price in Victoria because it is a pain transferring registration from another state to NSW.
