Not sure if anyone has experienced this before but I went to Target to pay back for my Coles credit card today and was told by a sales assistant I couldn't pay more than $2000 per day due to a store policy, which I thought was odd as I have paid more than $2000 in the past. I asked if it is a new policy and he told me it has been like that for a while. I asked him if you could try putting through more than $2000 and he told me the system won't let him do it. He insisted I couldn't pay more than $2k in a day at a same store.
I then walked to another register after the store assistant went away to ask if I could put $800 on the same card. It worked as expected.
I was rather annoyed by the first store assistant for telling me the system won't let me pay more than $2k when it clearly worked and thought what if the due date was on the day and some poor person ended up losing interest free period and got charged interest because of this.
Possibly just a staff member that hasn't been taught different? Not worth being annoyed over, but might have just been worth informing them that it did work…?
