[RESOLVED] Aust Post Won't Release My Item (C&C BigW)

I bought a card reader from ebay, so i select pickup from big w, i had no problem previously. just because big w close by and they open 7days.

Anyway i got an email saying my item is awaiting for collection in local post office.
So i went to visit the post office (Sat morning). The rep said I am not supposed to be collecting it. Because it's now Big W items, Big W has to come and collect it otherwise it will be redirected somewhere, and it's not up to them. I even told them i can proof them its my item, since i am here i will be collecting it. He suggest me to call big w.

So this morning i call bigw, regarding to this item, Big w said, its not up to them (Big W) to collect it, Ebay has to redirect it. Big W only receiving on behalf of Ebay customers. They don't go out to collect undelivered mails or items. They suggest i call the seller or ebay.

PS: in my email said, your item is awaiting for collection, please bring photo id, proof of address, and this notification (or if you receive a physical card)

Am i talking to a wrong rep?

  • you can't collect this mail article from the lpo because you're not the addressee.

        the person collecting the article must provide id with an address. the address must be the same or present a collection card authorising a third-party to collect.

        • Thats exactly as my thought.

          I can proof my email of purchase from the company, payment for the item, and email of the unreachable item which return to the Local post office.
          Well he refused to all my request, only bigw can talk to them!

          emails can easily be doctored. the lpo did the right thing by refusing these documents.

          that is right. it's either the sender or addressee depending on the enquiry.

          I have contact the seller via ebay. hope they can do something.

    Thats one thing. Beside it CnC to BigW and its address. As guy (rep) said, i got nothing to do with them. Item is clearly belong to bigw, if they give to me, what if bigw comes up and collect the item? where is the item?
    I just dont believe that they can't reach to big w (next 3 doors away)

      they will. the lpo will send a collection reminder after 5 business days. they will then rts the article after ten business days.

      • Hope so, but the big w lady, said clearly she has never heard, mail dont get delivered to bigw. or bigw stuffs go out and collect undelivered mail from post office.

      • paypal will wait for 14days (from day you paid) to make such a claim. Mainly use the Compact-Flash card from my camera

      Thank you, I called, as soon as they heard from online-store. they stop and gasp, they can't help, but contact seller/sender asap.
      But she gave me an idea by going into big w, try to talk to one of the CnC manager!

      I went to big w during, luckily the manager is kind and willing to walk down to post office during his lunch break to sort it out. He also hence it out, normally they just let post office return it back to the sender, because they have no control over third party CnC.

      Next 30minutes i got my sms for collection from big w.

    If yes, can you just sign your name as an authorised agent to pick up the package (on "behalf of" bigw) and get the package that way?

    • No, items/mails meant to sent to Big W (CLick and Collect section), So no card, and big w has no card neither!!

  • How long as it been time wise?
    This happened to me but was sorted out in the next few days when I got a notification directly from Big W

    • since Thursday, i waited because i thought maybe big w take a day or two to sort un-reviving items/mails.
      But nope, i call up the store in the morning, they said never happens, if it would, post office will resent it.

      All sorted now.

  • Bought 2 things on different dates for click and collect at woolies. Second part of my story similar as yours op.

    First one went to woolies. I hand over id and i was on my way with the parcel.

    The second one they left at post office. I was like WTF. woolies is open till late so picking up was easy. Why leave it at post office for. The post office and woolies are both in the same shopping centre.

    Licky for me though i showed my id to the post office and i was on my way.

    Just no happy jan when i couldnt pick up woolies.

    • See!! that what i am talking about, proof of purchased and ID or email address or post app of the consignment.
      Luckily they accept your proofs of ID.
      Even the Big W store manager said to me, they should accept those ID and Proof of consignment and email and other.

      • Every click and collect things i bought. Show email of purchase on phone or tablet. Show id and minutes later im on my way.

        • i had no problem, thats is exactly why i choose big w, they closed at 8pm and 9pm on thurs and fri. open 7 days.

          no photo id, just click and collect number its done.
