Looks like they accidentally applied 40% discount twice.

    14 x 0.6 x 0.6 = $5.04

Best work socks ever. Have about 6 pairs and been running them for about 4 years with no problems.

    • Had them for maybe 2 years just starting to get holes.

      • +1

Thinking about it I believe the problem with holes in socks is the fit of the shoe.
Has to be tight enough not to be loose.

I wear Redback work boots, not the cheaper ones but the better ones they fit like a glove and with insoles they work very well, not loose fitting but tight enough

Thanks Op. Mrs is always telling me to get a pair, somehow I always manage to put my foot in it. Socks to be me.

  • +1

    Oh man, that socks!

  • The fabric of those explorer socks feels really rough and uncomfortable to the touch. Do people really like it? Aren't sock supposed to be comfortable?

    • +1

I have fussy feet, and these socks are one of the very few that are all day & night comfort. Been buying these since early 90's and probably still have a few pairs from then too (granted they aren't as thick anymore) but no other sock lasts that long!.

      • Doesn't the fabric feel rough for you?

        • +3

          Man up

        • +2

It's not rough on the inside. It's toasty.

        • +1

          @zzymurgy: that's what he said

    • I find them uncomfortable and sweaty, so I just buy the Alpha sports socks from Kmart. $3 for two pairs sometimes and they're reasonably thick and comfortable.
Great deal though for anyone who does like these socks.

  • Copper explorers used to be the bomb and would last for years, new (blue) version are crap and would not recommend.

After a few days of wear completing foot patrols you will literally wear them thin enough to create a hole in the seam.

A bit of a joke if you consider their supposed to be "Holeproof" lol

    • +3

I've been buying them consistently for the past 5 years. They've gotten marginally thinner over time, but they're far from crap. I wear these often and I fail to see how you'd get a hole in them from a "few days of wear" unless you have ill-fitting shoes that rub constantly.

      • In my opinion since the old batch Ive owned and worn for 5 years doing the same tasks (same brand and size of shoe) = utter crap

Labelled as $5.04 each but scanned through at $3.52 each for me at Coles Bulleen Victoria.

    • +4

I scanned the black ones for $5.04
but the navy ones are $3.52

Excellent price, need these for cold feet

      • yeah only picked up the navy.

        • +2

          That's what she said?

      • Navy ones were ticketed at $8 and change at Coles Shellharbour, scanned at $8 and change.

Black ones were ticketed at $5.04 though and scanned at that price.

        Thanks OP.

  • Cannington WA in store $5.04. Quite a few pairs still on the shelf.

  • +1

is it just me or do others sleep with these on? They're good as I can tuck my trackie dacks into them to stop cold air getting to my legs :)

  • I think this for size 6-10 only.

    11-14 are all $8.40

    • I had one 11-14 colour scan at $8.40 (blue I think) and the rest at the lower price.

Also there isn't a huge difference between the two sizes. Then again I'm a size 10.5.

    • Nope, was $5.04 for me. Also women's socks scanned at the same price

  • if they scan at the wrong price (more) you get one free according to supermarket code of conduct.

I saw a charger reduced from $30 to $10 scanned at $30 said to manager and got it free.

I picked up 5 black from my local for $5.04 price.

Did bonds buy holeproof or are they own brand copies….

    • Did bonds buy holeproof or are they own brand copies….

      Same manufacturer aka pacific brands

    • Just looked up the code, it says Coles isn't even a signatory to the code. Only woollies.

  • There's a sticker on the scanning/laser part of the till which outlines the conditions.

  • Thanks OP
