13" Ultrabook w/ Minimum 8GB RAM for Video/Photo Editing ~$1500

I'm about to go traveling and have been searching far and wide on the internet for an ultrabook which will be sufficient for some video and photo editing. I came across this deal which seems good for the price ($1119.2 after discount); though perhaps there's something better?

Ideally it will be as light/small as possible (but not smaller than 13" screen). Is there another deal/ultrabook I should look for? And since I'm not leaving until the end of July, should I just hang around for some more EOFY sales?

Hi, I strongly recommend the Dell XPS 13 256GB. It would check every requirement of your need but you will have to wait until eBay have the 20% off for Dell eBay store. I recently bought one for my cousin at $1520 (from the RRP $1899 (being 5% off from the Dell official RRP $1999)

  Yeah that sounds great, I am just hoping that there will be a sale on them before I go, also giving enough time for me to set the laptop up with required programs… maybe I can hold out for a few more weeks in hope :)

    There was just a sale 1-2 weeks ago so I dont think it is going to come back anytime soon. At the moment, I think the surface book would be your sweet spot. Change to Windows10 and it's under $1500.

Heavier and thicker, but it will smack the Asus and XPS 13 silly in what your intended usage.

  thanks. whilst it does look like a good deal, I'll be traveling through Europe for a few months so the portability aspect is pretty high up on the priority list.

Gigabyte have a 14" thin ultrabook for $1649 (P34g v5)

Far better than any XPS in terms of specs and you get an Nvidia GPU and a quad core CPU plus two storage options (m.2 NVME PCIE slot and a 2.5" SATA drive).

I'd personally choose the Asus. Very light, has great battery life, keyboard, and performance will be good enough for general photo/video editing. Definitely worth it at 20% off IMO.

However, if the XPS had another 20% off deal, I'd probably choose that.
