Kuala Lumpur Airport Questions (KLIA2)

Hi,

Last time I flew to KL with AirAsia it was into the low cost terminal. I think this is gone now so I have a few questions.

Can I use my priority pass (citibank signature) to access the lounge? https://www.prioritypass.com/en/loungesearch?entity=2dd26301…

Whats the best way into KLCC? Should I take the KLIA Ekspres then a taxi or is it better to just take a taxi / uber direct from the airport? I don't want to mess around after a 5 hour flight.

Bonus off topic question, I have citibank plus card & 28 degrees. For cash out I should use the citibank plus and get no forex or atm fee right? Then 28 degrees for credit transactions?

Thank you!

You have plenty of choices. KLIA Ekspress is fast and efficient which will set you back about 50 ringgit. Plenty of different bus companies run a service to both KL Sentral and Pudu for about 10 ringgit but take slightly longer. Uber, GrabTaxi and Cabs also available at about 80 ringgit.

  • One person = train cheapest.
    Multiple = Uber.

  • Thanks. I checked the bus and its an hour so I think Ill take the train. Any ideas about the priority pass?

    • I had no problem accessing the lounge with my priority pass last year.

      • Great, thanks for that.

Do they check your ticket? I am just wondering if you need a ticket with a full service airline to use the lounge.

        • Any airline boarding pass matching the name on your priority pass.

Yes, 28º MasterCard for credit transactions and Citibank Plus for ATM withdrawals (no foreign transaction fees and no ATM fees in M'sia).

    • Thank you!

    • Can you please share which banks' ATMs you were able to withdraw with success, without any dramas.

I was told a first-hand account of dramas with withdrawing from ATM from a traveller to Malaysia - which included, among other things, issues with no. of digits in the pin etc. Told this about 6 months ago, so was making a mental note not to use ATM withdrawal in that country. Perhaps that was an isolated incident? Thanks in advance.

I have used ATMs in Malaysia on a couple of holidays without any incident, but I have a 4 digit PIN.

        • If my memory serves me, the ATM this chap withdrew from required more digits than his 4-digit pin, and he had to pad it up with something. Hence the trouble. Thanks, withdrawing from ATM is a possibility again :-)
