Hi again, another heads up for OZBers.
This time re marketing emails from Australia Post.
I wasted my time and hope to save yours.
Two emails in the past week from or related to Australia Post.
An email from Austrlia Post was sent to my email address. Genuine web address. It says a digital mail was sent to my address via Australia Posf, Thought it might be tracking email from AP on parcels sent to me, In order to read, I need to set up the digital postal address. After spending over 5 minutes to set the AP email account, I read the so called digital mail came to my address. One one - it was generated by Australia Post itself to market their digital mail.
what a con! waste of time and It was totally deceitful marketing imo.Got an email from a third party company I dealt with (can't recall). it says Australia Post has a Lifestyle Survey for participation which you complete survey to get rewards on eg woollies gift card…..a bit like Google survey or pureprofile…
All look legit. Set up an account and fill in thisLifeStyle Survey. It took Me over 20 min to fill in the Household/Personal Information. Information collected is like age DOB, income, shopping habits….Glad that I BS most of them knowing that it is not safe.
Once set up and logged into the account, it says there is currently no survey available (to earn points)
We all need Australia Post to deliver us mails so it has a pretty complete database of Australian addresses,
Do you think these marketing behaviours sound right? Right/Wrong/Unsure,
PS. on a seperate note, a staff had his laptop locked by ransom virus this week after opening an email attachment acted as from Australia Post. stay away.
Gee…now spent even more time which I hope not wasted In saving some of yours.
So your only issue with AusPost is with the digital post? No 2 and the laptop are completely irrelevant as they have nothing to do with Aus Post.
