I've had this soundbar for about two and a half years and lately it's been playing up. It's connected to my TV by a coax cable and no matter what source the sound comes from, there's popping and crackling every 20 seconds or so - enough to drive me wild. I don't have the receipt for it anymore in my email and I'm at wits end. I don't want to buy a new soundbar if this one can be saved. Any ideas please?

i have the same one mine also started crackling replaced the toslink cable and no more crackling.
Mine too got the same issue. It all started a couple of months ago and sometimes it goes to "sleep" mode and won't produce any sound. Need to restart/switch input source to bring back the sound. Checked Philips website and I believe it's 1 year limited warranty only, unless you purchased a 3 year extended warranty, I don't think it is covered.
Mine does the exact same too! I guess it's a lost cause and I should just go get a better soundbar :(
I've found the receipt for the soundbar and its dated 13 Jan 2014. Do I have any hope in going to Harvey Norman and claiming the soundbar isn't fit for purpose? The Phillips mob have fobbed me off to a third party repairer with terrible reviews online. I don't think they'll repair it at a reasonable cost, but will Harvey Norman do it?
Hi not sure if this is way too late but I did a reset on mine and so far so good - press the 'Mute' button on the remote, immediately followed by the 'AUX' button twice after which you unplug the unit, count to 10, then plug it back in
I disposed of my unit already and bought a Sony sound plate with HDMI ARC during a sale :(
I had to dig deeper as I moved and my sony one I have somehow misplaced the Sub. I find the sony annoying that you need a remote to turn it on.
Not when there's HDMI ARC. Now everything is controlled by my telly remote, as long as my sound plate is set to the HDMI receiving channel.
@niggard: So I just need to find the sub!
I have this soundbar as well and came across the same issue 2 years after purchase. Concluded that it seemed to be an issue with the whole unit itself as even Bluetooth would crackle and not just when connected to TV. Unfortunately from a quick search online, it seems like it's a common issue with Philips soundbars.
For the amount I paid for it ($100), I didn't think it was worth the hassle to get it sorted, and ended up with a Yamaha YAS-105b, which feels much more solid.
