Looking to go to Antarctica for the 2017/18 season for three people. I want a cruise from Ushuaia of around 20 days including South Georgia. Anyone knows of a good deal? Don't want to spend more than AUD$10,000 per person.

I was there early this year actually. But you really need to spend a lot of time in Ushuaia. There are a lot of people waiting for last minute deals now. I was offered a 10 day one for US$5000 but turned it down. Unfortunately that was the only one I could go on.

Just returned from South America and met a few people who said their friends went to Ushaia and managed to get a last minute deal (literally the day before the cruise departed) for about USD$3500. Apparently this is quite common practice for people to just rock up in Ushaia and contact all the local cruise companies to see if they have any empty spots (which there usually are as it's rare that they ever sell out). Obviously this would only work if you didn't have time restraints. Either way, have a great trip!
