SLOW AAPT Unlimited ADSL2+ Download Speed

Hi, not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this but I've recently joined the AAPT unlimited ADSL2+ plan and the download speed I've been getting is only around 250-300K/sec (2weeks ago I was getting >1000k/sec downloading from the same source with Telstra). I've tried the speed tests and only got less than 1.5mb connection speed. Emailed and called AAPT several times but been getting the same useless response so I've given up. Just wondering if anyone else with AAPT is also experiencing slow download speeds? Thanks.

  Basically it's shaped. Ask AAPT about it and they will be evasive and pretend they aren't aware of the shaping but it is clear as crystal.

  P2P is limited to 40kbps on ADSL for us. We are on a 10gb peak, unlimited offpeak plan. It sucks! When I lived overseas I used to get 1MB per second. Those were the days. I run all my downloads during the night so am getting a lot more data than I used to but the shaping is the pits.

    I suspected that. Dodgy. Thanks for the confirmaton Sparkles. And now I'm locked in a 2year contract with the crappy speed. Nothing we can do about it?

  Haha, doubt it, just download craploads during the night, all night, every night. Or else exercise your cooling off period, I think you have 2 weeks?

  I would recommend anyone who does P2P or requires (wants) high download needs to avoid AAPT.

  P.S. Wanna swap? I would love 250-300K/sec! :D

  That's what I've been doing. Try not to miss out any minute between 8pm - 8am.. haha.. you kidding me.. you can't even get to 250k/sec? with the superfast AAPT ADSL2+ internet!!??

  I can only get regular ADSL here, not ADSL2. 40kps seems to be the cap, on that I can download 1.2gb approx per night. But considering I don't have time in my life to watch any more than that it prevents a build up of unwatched stuff.

  Better than dodo, off pick less than 10kbs, Most developed countries paid less than $30 for unlimited ADSL2 or cable, what we got here… most expensive internet and worst service.
  a newspaper said Internet in Australia is 10 years behind other developed countries.

  you can call TIO for help ,they will kill AAPI for you, trust me. just like they did to dodo for me.
