[RESOLVED] When and why are comments closed on deals?

I found a deal that was expired within last two months that is still technically active because stock is still available in some stores.

As a power user I can open up the deal by removing the expiry, but there was no ability to comment because comments are closed. Perhaps Power Users can be allowed to open up comments again somehow?
I didn't find any guideline on when comments are closed or why. Perhaps this can be added to the commenting guidelines?

  Hasn't been commented for 2 weeks
  However if you think you wish to add more to the post, please Report or contact a moderator and we'll re-open the node for commenting. Once you commented, it will stay for another 2 weeks (or more, if there are more follow up comments).
