  • how does it compare to go pro hero

    • There is different versions of the Gopro Hero, best to google comparison reviews/videos to find out.

Most comparisons I've seen say the Gopro is better but the video and stills from the Sony always look better to me.

The biggest negative I've read over and over about the Sony is the mount and the water proof case.

Here are some comparisons for the positive points of the Sony though, the stabilization and sharpness.

    • it'll hyaave a much better quality lens. but it'll be bigger. depends what you want out of your action cam i guess.

    • It's similar to the GoPro Hero4 Silver in features and performance. The main difference is the shape, GoPro is designed to mount on the front of things, Sony is designed to mount on the side of things. They both stick out a lot if you don't mount them accordingly.

GoPro gives you more control of low light settings but tends to be noisier/granier than sony at high sensitivity.

ezarc's first link is the best comparison I've found.

  • Should i get the Sony AS200v at this price or GITUP2 @ $140?

  • how about this vs the Sony HDRAZ1VR?

  • Is this the one that jb hifi keeps trying to flog off with the coupons via email ?

  • If it goes sub $140 then I'll pull the trigger.

  • Bought one from HN for $148 six months ago. It takes great quality video but the battery life is woeful and the menu system is deeply flawed and an eye-gouging chore to use. It's in a draw somewhere now.

    • Are you in melbourne? i can buy it if you're selling

      • +1

        Sell a bargain? Preposterous.

  • Thanks OP. Bought one on Friday.
