It is a Steam key AND DRM-free download in addition to that.
I am well aware that Steam is the worst form of DRM. I work in the area of intellectual property quite regularly so I know - I bet I am one of the few people who has actually read all the "nice" restrictions Steam has in its T&Cs as I have read it in full.
It has trading cards, so you can make some money of it in the very least. Given that it is free Steam money, it can never be a bad deal, no matter how terrible the game is.

Seriously? Origin and Uplay are worse… Or anything by EA or Sony on a CD/DVD.
They are all the same. While some are more convenient, the DRM itself is the same: you need their client to play the game. Without their client and control files, you cannot access your games.
I won't argue about whose interface is more convenient or whether EA is evil.
DRM is evil, in whatever form it comes: Steam, Uplay, Origin etc.

Steam lets devs decide whether to use their DRM or not.
Yes. Theoretically. It is a little bit as deciding to pay a ransom to save your child or not pay and let it be killed in a kidnap situation.
And if Steam is not the DRM, then something else is.
Also, given the huge amount of games on Steam, this list is tiny. I feel it is a bit of an alibi list to "fake" the appearance of freedom.
Anyway, I use Steam when I must but if I have the choice to get DRM I will. I grew up in the good old days when you could give or sell a game disc of a game you finished or no longer wanted to a mate and everything was fine. Therefore, I know and experienced it can be done differently and nothing Steam or Origin can do or say will convince that what they do is good for the customer/consumer.
Sweet, 10 minute mail worked. Thanks.
can't seem to load my profile to get to the my games section and get the key.. seems to be stuck on loading or something.
I got the same thing. Manually typing the address worked for me: https://gamesrepublic.com/user/mygames
that takes me back back to the home page :/
oh well, i guess it'll fix itself in time
It only works if you're signed in. I had some trouble getting the signin page to appear, but I randomly clicked on various links and then tried the signin link at the top of each page and one of them worked.
i am signed in lol.. i can click on all other profile tabs and it takes me to the correct page ^^
edit: signed out and back in and it works now. thanks :)
I just had the same problem. I think their servers are busy so it takes a few minutes (about 10 or so for me) before the key is able to be added to your profile.
It really is an awfully glitch prone website. As a promotion to attract new customers I can't help thinking most of them (myself included) won't be in a hurry to return after getting their free key!
The my games section is blank, is there a code we need to redeem it or something? Your link leads to a paying game, not free.
A) Maybe deal is over; OR
B) Maybe you have not done the following: new account, remain logged in, go to Anomaly Korea, click "Get it free", wait for a bit, then go to my games section, find the key and redeem. If it does not show as free, maybe the deal is over., Try with different browsers.
As you can see from above, it worked and many people, including myself, got it free.
Yep, definitely A, expired.
steam is a form of DRM, FYI.
Game has mixed reviews on steam but for a free game, it would have to be terrible to be a bad deal. Thanks
