Opal travel to Sydney CBD to be cost more

Just seeing this news at the moment about 'CBD increment' another 3.21km on top of the rise in cost just to travel CBD. More Opal sad news… It did not mention when this will change.

I just wonder how many of you will be affected by this change? From my rough guess sure I have to paid like $2-3 more every time going to City. How are you affected from the change and any suggestion to how you will go about it?

    There is nothing new here. its not "to" cost more, it "has" cost more for 30 years.

    A Transport for NSW spokeswoman said the fare structures had ensured travel to the CBD by train was consistent and equitable for more than 30 years.
    "The same structure applies to both Opal card users and customers using paper tickets," she said.

    So you are a little late to the party and wrong when you say how WILL it affect you

    In short simple English: The "CBD increment“ has always existed, just no one knows about it.

    I get off the train pre cbd and leg it to get some exercise. It's only a few km and cheaper. Probably not an option if you're running late though.
