not long before the fad for these are over. Jawbone's all but folded. Fitbit is next..

  Fitbit have a very good social group community (run by fitbit linked to the devices) which gives the products a much better lifespan and keeps the user base engaged with the product unlike some of the other brands.

    Yes very engaged … I went to into HN (shame … shame ..) to get the new fitbit alta which was supposed to have a metal band released a few months ago. The abuse being leveled at fitbit reps in their chat rooms is pretty bad. I suspect tchi6 will be proven right longer term.
