After putting this off for over 3 years I've finally decided it's time to get an automatic garage door for our house.
Can anyone please recommend a reliable company/ person who can install this in the Sydney area?. I live in Fairfield (near Parramatta) if that helps.

If you are talking about fitting an opener to an existing roller door then why not DIY?
It is very easy, they come with instructions. You will need a power point near the door though.
I am no genius and have installed 3 of them.
plus one, but you'll need the right gear. I've removed two dead controllers and installed two new ones.
Have an impact driver to tighten/loosen bolts helps. Having a builders prop to hold up the door during the process is good too, but I also did one by installing some hooks above in the wooden frame and used rope to hold the door up.
Get a sparky to move the light and install a power point for you - which might costs just as much as getting the whole shebang installed.
My husband says he can do it in theory. Our main issue is the garage light is placed exactly where the main operator for the door needs to be installed so hubby has no idea how to get around this.
Which ever way you went you would still have to pay for an electrician to sort out the light problem as garage opener installers are not usually electricians.
There should be some DIY videos on youtube, and your hubby may have already looked at them??
