100

Picked up single origin Columbian freshly roasted beans from the little Collins st Sensory Lab in Melbourne for my French press. 2 x 250gram for $25, which is not bad. Plus bonus Hario V60 plastic dripper (VD-02T) with 40 filters to make awesome filter coffee.

Good coffee and a different way to enjoy the beans.

      Hahahahaha - yup!

Definitely can get cheaper coffee beans and it not the deal for everyone.

But it made me happy today, so am sharing the love.

  • Which Hario was it?? Guessing by the price it would be the plastic one?

The plastic 2-cup kit (with filters, $4.40) is CHEAPER than the 2-cup by itself ($9.60)!

    • Yeah, the plastic one with 40 papers VD-02T

      • Thats good value - the plastic V60 should be ~$10 normally, perhaps a pricing error on their website? I've got sensory labs beans before and I like their flavour.
Was this at the entrance Sensory Lab or on Level 1 of David Jones?

        • At the Sensory Lab entrance on little Collins Street.

The guy that served me mentioned they had an oversupply of the v60s. I have not made pourover at home before, so going to give it a crack this week. Will be interesting to compare to my French press.

  • *Colombian

    • i did get 2 different colombian single origin beans. i made a cold brew in my french press yesterday and had a cup this morning - absolutely delicious!

last time i was there, i picked up some excellent ethiopian beans.

quite impressed with the sensory lab beans

  • What's good to drink instore here?

    • i find it best to speak to the staff there. explain what you normally drink and what tastes you have.

if you like a long black, worth trying the batch brew in my opinion.
