I'm in search of a case for my HTC 10 so far, I'm quite unsure whether I should get a flip style case or just a normal back cover case. Or just put a dbrand skin on my phone.
Does anyone like using flip style cases for their smartphones?

agree, but it depends on how you usually hold the phone.
I like flip (being hinged at the bottom) as i can still hold the phone normally in either my left or right hand and the front cover dangles down whether i am talking or texting. it is only a nuisance when holding on its side for photo/video use.if it were a book style opening the only way to hold it in the traditional method would be to fold the cover around onto itself every time, although i have seen people talking on a book style cover with the front flap behind their ear/thumb which looks awkward.
Don't like the flip. Having the cover over the screen or having the flip flap around while I'm using it.
I have only started using one recently as I have ApplePay on my iPhone, so I don't have any need to carry a wallet with me anymore. My case will fit three or four cards and some notes if I need.
Flips are too much obstruction when playing with it a lot. Bumper is decent for protection but go raw/nothing best looking and smaller too. Usually I try get a tempered glass on there asap
Flip cases all the way.
