I did not get a email receipt from Officework after making a purchase from their website UPDATE

Hey guys,

I just wanted to enquire that I just recently bought two MacBooks which are currently on sale at OfficeWorks for $1350 through the OzBargain site and after completing the purchase I did not receive a receipt in my email.

I checked my junk email and trash if I accidentally deleted it or not and it was not there. I am also sure I entered the correct email while filling out the form as it asked for my email address twice, the second time to confirm that it is correct. So I am sure I did not incorrectly type in my email twice with the same exact spelling mistake.

Now one issue is that I selected the pickup from the store option and to go pick it up I need an identity proof and the RECEIPT with me.

I am sure it is illegal for a company to not provide a receipt if you buy something from them.

Please help!

I am currently contacting their customer care to sort this out but what can be done so something like this does not happen again?

Cheers!

UPDATE: I just checked my bank account today and I saw that they have refunded my money without giving any reason or email.

I called the Officeworks support and the girl talking to me was not willing to send me an email giving a reason why I had been refunded. I have told her to tell her manager to call me and talk about it, as this is quite bizarre.

  • Sorry to hear that, what was your payment method?

    • I used a debit card.

The receipt will generally reach you when the item is ready for collection or delivery. It's normal for the likes of HN, TGG and OW to send a tax invoice much later than the time of purchase.

    • ok, cool! I made the purchase yesterday and the item should be ready by tomorrow to pickup from the store as they said it takes 2 days to get ready to be picked up.

So lets see. Hopefully I get the recipe tomorrow in my inbox.

      • 2 business days?

        • I think from what I remember it includes the weekend also. It said for getting the item posted it is delivered during business days, so if I had picked the shipping option then it would have shipped on Monday but Store pickup is available during the weekends as well as they are open everyday.

Sorry, I just checked and it is during business days.

  • Did you get a confirmation of your order? Can you login and check the status?

Oh and you don't normally need the receipt, just ID and the credit card you paid with will do.

    • I did not get a confirmation email either. After I made the payment it showed on the website it was successful though and I did not register as a user, so I can't sign in and check.

On their website it says "Once your order has been paid and processed you'll receive a confirmation email in your inbox" and my bank account is confirming that it has been paid and processed.

Their website also says "When you go in store to collect your order, be sure to have your tax invoice, order confirmation and valid ID." I have not received the tax invoice or the order confirmation and it does not say to bring the card I paid with.

Then wait for the confirmation email first, don't go into store yet until you get it or until you've been waiting for almost a week.

        Too early to stress out..

        • Yeah, I will just wait for a few days and see if I receive it.

    Hey there mate!

I have encountered the exact same issue, except I did it through their website, instead of here.

What ended up happening? Just a refund and that's it?

    Many thanks
