Too many CLICK20 posts?

Right now the front page is loaded with CLICK20 deals for ebay stores and probably will continue to do so until this sale is over.

Do we as an OzBargain community want to start listing every individual item for every major sale?

Can we not just sticky the initial announcement post until the sale is over?
This way people who don't frequent OzBargain often can still see the major sales when they visit without it being flooded from items from one major sale.

Just a thought. Would love to hear other thoughts.

Do we as an OzBargain community want to start listing every individual item for every major sale?

Yes, if the price is right.😁

    • Hey nocure, thanks for commenting, definitely not taking stab at you or anyone else that posts good price bargains. I guess what I'm trying to say is blanket sales like this one 20% off everything is bound to create a LOT of cheap items.

To me, it doesnt matter. The click20 thing is a promotion so its not a deal by itself. Thus, i still think there's a need to post specific deals which people find as great deals.

Also, its more for awareness as some may not find the deals that others found.

        Cheers!

        • I agree. People who get email notifications will be able to see good deals pop up as they get posted and if it's a particularly good deal, they can buy it before it gets sold out.

If it is just one post that gets updated, only people who have the time to continually check that one post would benefit.

Yeah, thing is, the original CLICK20 post contains too many items - literally thousands, few of which are real bargains.

If people think a particular item is good enough for its own post, and people who see it agree enough to upvote it, then everyone will be able to naturally find the best deals.

If the deals aren't good enough to warrant a separate post, they won't get voted to the front page. If they are, they will.

OzB is a bit like the free market, it needs some rules so it doesn't get abused, but it has a remarkable ability to sort itself out to an optimum scenario.

Same as Nocure, I just scroll past them.
Some pique my interest because I've always got a list of "stuff" in my head I want - but it has to be a real bargain to "impulse" buy.
Keep them coming - saves me searching.

The way I see it is the individual posts highlight what the actual good bargains with this deal are.

People like trent86 seem to some how always find good deals which people miss.

I like posting the items individually.

The cream rises to the top. Its about the value, not the code.

  • Not all sales are created equal. As orbargainers we want the best value whatever the product might be.

As we have seen time and time again shops jacking up prices day after % off sales.

Oh god not another click20 post…

  • Thats why you can upvote a deal and set the threshold they appear on your front page.

I kind of would like to see maybe a Related Promotion section for these deals e.g. it would say eBay's CLICK20, Big W's Toy Sale, or Target's Gaming Clearance in a section on the deal. You can then click on it and see all deals related to that promotion.
It could also have the potential to make it easier to expire groups of deals, e.g. if eBay decided to end the CLICK20 early, all deals could be expired at once. Another example is when the 30% off Target Toys Clearance ended, I went through every Target deal to see if it related to that particular promotion before reporting it as expired.

  • The multi-posts save me heaps of time having to search for items. +1 email notification sentiment.

I also like to search for 'click20' to see items I may have missed due to low upvotes.

  • I agree with you.
why have a post with an item that is normal price then the ebay 20% discount - the original post should cover it I think.
Other posts should be for real bargains - say a store is 10% cheaper than anyone to start with then the 20% off ebay makes it even greater.

Deals like kogan that are more than the RRP and relies on the ebay discount shouldn't be a post.
Same goes for the phone deals from Kogan that arent even compatible models for Australian carriers - not a deal because its not comparing an Aust model with the sale price as they are two different models.

    • Deals like kogan that are more than the RRP and relies on the ebay discount shouldn't be a post.

I really only care about the final price. If it's still a bargain, I think it deserves to be posted as a bargain.

      • I understand, but in the end some things are only about 10% off rrp I never think its a bargain. Cheaper, maybe, but not a bargain.

True. I rely on the voting system to filter that out. :)
