Nice Customer Service from Flight Centre

Nothing earth shattering to read here but just wanted to acknowledge Flight Centre.
I've booked through them for the best part of 20 years and they are always happy to price match or find better options.
My latest booking wasn't terrible by any means but it wasn't the usual high standard i'm used to and some technical issues caused a couple of headaches.

I flicked them an email letting them know what had happened and they were very responsive and genuine in their response.
There are plenty of stories on here about bad customer service so I thought it would be worth highlighting a decent company.

I had every intention of continuing to book flights with them but it's a lovely sunny day and I just wanted to share some goodwill.

      No, otherwise I would have ticked the box that said I was.
      It's a shame that just simply wanting to share something positive is met with such cynicism.

  • Their nice customer service ends at an obligatory price beat (only if you have discounted vouchers of 20% or greater and even then you will be hard pressed to want to go through the hassle of dealing with them).

    All you are paying for is a 250% increased chance to make mistakes on your itinerary (never works out well when they ask you to spell your name and all your details and don't even bother to double check with you or spell it out or show you the screen), complete ignorance in the best way to book things with no bargain sense whatsoever, as well as hidden commission on everything under the sun as well as dishonest pushing towards highest commission options. You only have to walk in to a FC to see them on the phone pushing some poor average sap into booking a no resort credit standard-at-penthouse-price-room at the Bellagio or giving someone incorrect advice about fees or rules or inclusions. Good luck if you have any problems with your bookings whatsoever as you have to go through them during business hours and its a hassle to make a simple change to your booking which you could have done within 60 seconds if you booked yourself.

    If you are not price beating them because you obtained gift vouchers of at least 15% off and are price matching sale flights, you are somehow connected to them or completely ignorant about the true cost of things. Their JOB is to overcharge you and trick you - they are parasites.
