You can pay over $2000 for the Yamaha YSP-5600BSW soundbar. Then again it does have 46 discrete speakers and features Dolby ATMOS.
Point being a soundbar isn't a soundbar as a speaker isn't a speaker. There's varying quality, performance and features.
Ripp off it was $575.35 at myers before. Call ACCCC
The Australian Consumers Complaining Constantly Corporation?
Exactly
$575.35? yesterday or week ago, or year ago?
Still overpriced. Just like most anything from Bose. They are not always bad but badly overpriced.

So many reviews give it close to 10 stars. It's not over priced. I think it is very well priced for what it is!
Like how a Bentley car is overpriced compared to a Kia
$699.00 is quite a good deal. I paid $715 a while ago. Very good sounding speaker system for the bedroom/lounge. It sounds the best if you can place the subwoofer about 3m away from where you are sitting.
I've got one of these at home. A few things buyers should be aware of:
- no bluetooth (in case you need this)
- the remote is huge
There are many more soundbars that exist for MUCH cheaper that come with bluetooth - but do not match it for audio quality!
I've connected mine directly to the TV using an optical audio cable. Overall very nice product.
I was considering the soundtouch 130 or the sonos play bar plus sub…. about the same price… Trying to pick through reviews online is hard… bose has equal amount haters and fan boys so finding a neutral review is hard… In a store the guy thinks bose better for tv and movies (clearer on spoken words) but sonos better for music…. Both sounded great instore, I think I will have to go back in for another listen….
$700 for a soundbar? Good for… watching TV in a cupboard, I guess…?
