This is all new to me to and have never owned a frequent flyers rewards card before, I think I read up that each point is ~0.5 cents depending on what you use it for.

You can always transfer your points (4500) to that account and bounce back the points (5000) to your account.

you need to transfer 5000 and then 5500 back, min transfer is 5000 and not 4500
each point is ~0.5 cents

I'm pretty impressed with the level of optimism within Virgin's marketing team.
I realise that small amounts do eventually add up, but with the amount required for redemption starting from 6,900 points (6,900 points plus additional $$ in payment is the minimum required to redeem a single flight) and going up to the hundreds of thousands, this "bonus" is miniscule in comparison.
I agree, but it's still better than nothing…
Not to mention 2 points per $1 on eBay purchases via their eStore. I do this now instead of cash back options.

Does anyone know anything about the 20% off bonus for the redemption of velocity points to gift cards?
I see it was on back in June but it is now expired. Do they do it often?
Is there a better use for velocity points apart from flights/holidays (ie: you can get a $250 coles gift card for 45000 points).
The BP I went to tonight was advertising using points to get $10 off fuel.
Of course, there was no visible mention of how many points that would be. I didn't stop to read the fine print.

however I grabbed a brchure for this promo and ive registered,
but its ambiguous, am I supposed to get a temp card from BP or print one off???
You get a temporary card with the brochure
Then they mail you the card
If you Havnt received the points ring them up

thanks everyone, visited my 3rd bp and they had a temp card
im a bit confused of the order, I registered for velocity and picked up a temp card a few days later,
on the card it says please register within 30 days from first use,
so I assume this is like a flybuys card,
when I go to BP and pay for fuel, I show and it adds how many points?
