Appam balik in Sydney - where to buy?

Hi, I used to live in Penang and fell in love with peanut or peanut and sweet corn pancakes - the thick ones like a crumpet.
They seem to have a variety of names - appam balik, mang jeng kueh/ban jian kuih/min jiang kueh/…
Every time I visit Singapore, KL or Georgetown I go out of my way to get a fix. I've tried various recipes off the net but nothing comes up like the ones that street vendors sell in Malaysia or Singapore. There's been some great flight specials to SE Asia lately, but still way to much to justify a quick international flight to buy breakfast or morning tea. In Sydney, I found a place in the CBD over near Darling Harbour that sells the thin crispy ones. Does anyone know where I might be able to find the thick ones?

  • Try Straits of Malacca restaurant in Glen Waverley (Melbourne) if you're down this way. They are the original thick ones.

    • Deffo the thick ones are better. The thin ones are arse!!!

  • Try Kensington area.
Indonesian people call it Terang Bulan or Martabak manis. Can't remember where exactlty though
